17.01.2022 finishing up a massage . most massage therapists just finsh their massage on you and leave the room I do this . It’s so important to let your clients know that their massage it comming to an end, and this particular use of the towel helps with the patients skin mechanoreceptors! These detect touch, pressure and vibration and rubbing the towel this way wakes all them mechanoreceptors up and get them working optimally ... . Have you had this done before? See more

15.01.2022 CUPPING a lot of people have mixed reviews on cupping but i personally love it a lot // so what the heck is cupping? ... how i say, it’s a reverse massage it’s primarily used with traditional Chinese medicine to remove stagnation (which is a collection of stress, energy and all other funky things) and stimulate the flow of good energy a vacuum is created between the skin and the cup, lifting up the first few layers of tissue to allow an in blood flow, an in fascial movement and also in lymphatic drainage. // THESE ARE NOT BRUISES it is simply an increase in blood flow and energy to this area! i absolutely love having cupping done, i feel so refreshed and ready to restart shout out to @make_eat_real_food_yogi for today’s massage sesh, 100% needed this before i return to work myself on monday! - what are your opinions on cupping? let me know
13.01.2022 when you go back, you realise how much you’ve grown - this afternoon i treated myself to a massage at my TAFE where i studied massage. my body definitely needed it but i feel my heart did too. why you ask? ... when i was just about to graduate with my diploma i was scared. I was so scared. and that’s normal for a new grad, but it was my social anxiety that was holding me back. This unfortunately made me loose A LOT of clients when i first started in a clinic. coming back today, and talking the the students currently studying their certificate 4. I was asked to give feedback to the therapist and i said this exact same quote that’s in the post. the therapist nodded and agreed. - for me it was my social anxiety stopping me from growing. But i worked slowly on myself to help push myself out of the comfort zone, and look where i am now. Even though i’m working part time currently, my diary is primarily fully booked, this was so so so rare for me when i first started in 2018. i’m proud of me and i’m proud of how far i have come #motivation #yougotthis
06.01.2022 these past 6/7 months have been such a rollercoaster, more so an upwards rollercoaster my time so far at pinnacle has opened me up to so many new opportunities i never thought i’d be doing. but more than that? i became a lot more confident in myself and what i do as a massage therapist ... i still have a longgggg way to go but i’m hoping that with a bit more studying throughout my 3 week break i can come back and smash out some business goals - i started off 2020 extremely unhappy, extremely anxious and very very imposter syndrome-y i took charge of my future this year and i am proud. 2021, gets get it #ididit #mentalhealth
05.01.2022 let’s leave what happened in 2020 be and let’s focus on building our future with our healthy mind and body ... #mentalhealth #physicalhealth
01.01.2022 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN IN SCIENCE 11th February-2021 . I only just found out about this! Haha... But to be someone that has gone through a science degree... wow It’s been so incredible . I always failed science in high school and I never would have thought to be a dance and exercise scientist . Dance science is something I’m so passionate about as there’s very little studies happening within, I hope one day to change that . Exercise science, similar to dance science still has a long way to go but to have done many uni assignments on the injury prevention of ballet dancers fractured feet or the biomechanics of landing a jump and how that affects the rest of the body. It’s been so effing incredible . I hope in the future I can help this industry grow and flourish, because it’s so god damn interesting Thankyou @ampa.edu.au & @theacpe for allowing me to fall in love with dance and exercise science @ Barangaroo See more
