25.01.2022 If you find yourself constantly playing catch up trying to capture the latest design trends for your home, here's a great quote to remember when buying your next statement piece: "Good design never goes out of style" - and this is so true in today's ever changing world of design trends. We are living in a time where fast fashion is the norm and at competitive prices it is easy to fall for that piece of furniture, accessory or wall art that you bought for a fraction of the price you would have normally paid at a high end retailer. But there's truth in the saying that buying cheap is buying expensive and in the short run, you will most likely be replacing that nice but cheap rug. Rather, to save your bank from going bust get into a habit of buying items for your home with a price tag that reflects quality - you'll thank me later xx

18.01.2022 Hide away the clutter and bring out the hidden kitchen! 2020 has certainly been a year of challenges for us all and has seen us spending more time at home than ever before. Spending so much time at home also gave some the opportunity to reconnect with our children and partners. And so, with all that time spent reconnecting and building stronger bonds with each other, we may have noticed a few issues with our overcrowded home and the clutter that never seems to go away, no ma...tter how many times "things" are put back in its place on a shelf or stuffed in a drawer. During this time, a majority of people cleared out their homes and redecorated a little, and some have even gone as far as renovating their bathrooms and kitchens. If the idea behind the sudden burst in redecorating and renovations came from anywhere, it certainly would be in line with one of 2020's top design trend of "less is more" or "see less, worry less". Today, we are exploring the kitchen trend for this year called the 'un-kitchen' kitchen or what I like to coin the hidden kitchen trend. Contemporary kitchens are beginning to integrate small touches of furniture-like elements that reflect the rest of a home’s more personalised decor. At the extreme end, we will see kitchens that disappear completely into bespoke cabinetry, so all their functionality is hidden away when not in use. So, go on and feast your eyes on the ultimate declutter and make sure your next kitchen renovation hide away the clutter and introduce your kitchen as part of the home in aesthetic appeal and funtionality on demand. Whether you are keen on a Hamptons theme or a Scandi look, resort style can be adapted to suit most homes and budgets with these easy 5 steps: Greenery - indoor plants creates the perfect balance between indoors and out for a lovely resort feel. Oversized fiddle leaf figs and indoor palms partner... well with beachy palettes and evoke a feeling of relaxation and calm. Colour Palette - Whites, creams and neutral palettes are the hero to nailing the coastal style, creates a backdrop that allows your feature shades to stand out with an abundance of light and air. Window Treatments - Flowing ceiling to floor white sheer curtains creates a sophisticated look with movement and texture, reminiscent of summer days at the beach. Vignettes - Create interesting focal points to draw the eye with vignettes of beachy collections. Group items in threes, such as a tinted glass vase with a single glossy monstera leaf, and some trinkets from your travels to tell a story. Wall Art - For art with a difference, next time you’re on holidays, take a few snaps of your favourite beach, add a filter to suit and display in a natural or white frame, or print as a canvas, for a piece that’s unique and meaningful.

11.01.2022 Australia has its own unique beach style that evolved over the years, going from quaint beach cottage style through to the contemporary sprawling coastal inspired interiors of today. While chic, sophisticated Hamptons style beach homes fill the pages of interior magazines, the stylings are different to our Australian aesthetic. We too are fans of the Hamptons style beach aesthetic, with the exception of our own uniquely Australian twist on it. Tending to go for a more earthy ...and relaxed appeal, cool and peaceful colours and an appreciation of all things sea, sun and sand, this beach style is quintessentially Australian.
