23.01.2022 If you are in Melbourne Metro, you can still get an installation this year if you sign up before 30th of September! While solar and batteries cannot be installed under Metro Melbourne's restrictions, now is the best time to ask all your questions about the process and get a quote in time to be installed after restrictions are eased and before summer (the best time of year for solar energy production) and the Christmas holidays. For our regional VIC, NSW and QLD customers, we are still able to install solar and batteries right now so talk to us today!

22.01.2022 If you ever need objective, third party advice on what to look for in a solar PV system or battery, Solar Victoria provides comprehensive information on everything you need to consider. Have a read below!

21.01.2022 Federal Labor leader Anthony Albanese used his budget reply speech on 8th October 2020 to announce a $20 billion plan to provide low-cost finance to transmission companies to build out the transmission network in line with the Integrated System Plan. A 21st-century economy needs a modern electricity network that supports reliability, security and lower emissions technologies, and delivers low-cost energy to consumers.

20.01.2022 594,431,371 kg CO2! That's the estimated amount of carbon emissions saved collectively from the Echo Group and our installations. That's equivalent to removing an estimated 128,423 passenger vehicles off the road in one year! If we all had Electric Vehicles, we would be saving approximately half the emissions from fossil fuel-based vehicles. Once again, thank you to all our new and existing customers for reimagining a greener, brighter future. ... *this is an estimation based on energy efficiency installations undertaken by Echo Group in relation to emissions factors provided by the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (Measurement) Determination 2008 and approximate daily average production. Emissions from vehicles were provided by the EPA (US) as an estimate.

19.01.2022 Join us for an information session webinar tomorrow where we'll be answering more of your questions on solar and batteries! This will be hosted with our partners at the City of Port Phillip and Yarra Energy Foundation. Sign up for free below and look forward to seeing you there!

18.01.2022 The VIC Government has announced a massive investment in energy efficiency subsidies that will help cover the cost of their power bills and make homes more energy efficient. "More than 100,000 households have now installed power stations on their roof through the Labor Government’s Solar Homes program. To help more Victorians get the benefits of solar, the Labor Government will provide $191 million to expand its landmark Solar Homes program. In addition, Victorians in every ...corner of the state will now be able to apply for a Solar Homes battery, with the Labor Government providing 17,500 household battery rebates over the next three years." Talk to us about transitioning your home into an energy-efficient future.

18.01.2022 EnergyAustralia announced that as part of the closure plans, a new big battery facility would be built at Jeeralang in the Latrobe Valley, with 350MW of capacity. We are ensuring energy storage is built before Yallourn exits the system, helping to secure Victoria’s energy supply and enable more renewables to enter the system, Tanna said. Excited to be part of the energy transition and kudos to EnergyAustralia for what will be a massive reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from this closure.

16.01.2022 "Arranging the installation of solar power is not a contact sport, nor does it need to involve you getting up close and personal with anyone. Much of the process can occur online or over the phone, and a site visit by a prospective installer doesn’t have to involve that person being inside your home. The same situation applies on the day of installation the installers will be on your rooftop for the most part, not in your lounge-room."... Finn Peacock writes about the value of solar in uncertain times and how it can provide some security now.

16.01.2022 As of the end of September, eko energy have cumulatively contributed to saving emissions equivalent to approximately 27,551 Australians in a year! Australians have one of the highest emissions per capita in the world and we can all do our part in reducing that number while saving money. #energyefficiency #sustainability #gogreen Thank you to all of our customers and partners for your continued support.

14.01.2022 Following news of the early closure of Yallourn power station, new data from the Energy Savings Industry Association finds that actions taken under the Labor Andrews government’s Victorian Energy Upgrades scheme between 2021-2028 would offset 77% of Yallourn’s annual generation and 100% of it by the end of 2030.

13.01.2022 NSW sets $32 billion bold plan for Clean Energy Transition. In doing so, the Berejiklian Government will unlock $32 billion of new investment in regional NSW and support an estimated 6300 construction jobs and 2800 ongoing jobs. We are excited for this pivot toward sustainability driven by State Governments and hope to see support from the Federal Government as well.

12.01.2022 We have been working hard in the background to improve how we service customers throughout their solar journey. While the power of satellite imagery has grown and evolved over the years, it may still miss some aspects of your roof that might affect the solar installation. We are now introducing a desktop review of every system with our CEC accredited design team and will send a licensed electrician ahead of time to approximately 80% of our jobs. This ensures our designs and ...quotations are right and it means we can boast an industry-leading first-time install success rate with reduced variations and changes to installation dates. Nevertheless, this will all take place with COVID work safe practices in place and where installations cannot commence, will be scheduled for a date and time when it is safe to do so. We are continuously improving and look forward to partnering with you on your sustainability journey!

11.01.2022 We are looking for you to join us! If you have a passion for sustainability and fulfilling work, apply below for as a Field Services Coordinator, Apprentice Solar Electricians or CEC Accredited A Grade Electrician. Looking forward to hearing from you!

09.01.2022 "The Australian Energy Market Operator says it will work with the Victorian government to identify and establish new renewable energy zones in the state, as part of a $3.5 billion suite of network development projects designed to ensure a smooth transition to the legislated target of 50% renewables by 2030." Sophie Vorrath writes for RenewEconomy.

04.01.2022 We were refered to eko energy initially by my parents, who commented how neat their installation was. [eko energy were] very knowledgeable and helped us select a system that matched our needs. Jaydn was impressed with the service and knowledge he received and approved installing a quality, Tier 1 6.6kW solar PV system. Read more about his journey with us in the case study below.... https://www.ekoenergy.co///02/Jaydn-Hubalek-case-study.pdf

02.01.2022 We don't normally provide viewing recommendations but we are inspired by Sir David Attenborough's latest documentary that reflects upon both the defining moments of his life and highlights the devastating changes he has seen. It also provides hope, all with beautiful cinematography and footage of our wonderful planet. After watching the documentary, a few customers have approached us to install solar panels and a battery system to do as much as they can to mitigate their carbon footprint. It is an incredibly noble and superb thing to do. We think everyone should take the time to watch this extremely important and timely documentary. Be inspired and be the change you want to see in this world!

01.01.2022 Once a year, we take some time to look back at our efforts throughout the previous year and strategise for the new one. We take customer and internal feedback very seriously and discuss how we may bring these improvements about. This year, we've come together a bit differently to reevaluate ourselves and how we can improve, with social distancing and extensive hygiene practices of course!
