23.01.2022 In 1954 John Ellemor founded El-Electric, manufacturing and supplying low voltage fluorescent lighting for shop window displays in the inner city suburbs of Melbourne. From humble beginnings in a back yard in Pascoe Vale, Victoria, John expanded the business as demand for Australian made energy efficient fluorescent lighting grew. The first El-Electric factory was built in Ferntree Gully in 1965 and in 1991 Rob Ellemor (son of John) took over the business and expanded again... until the business outgrew the Ferntree Gully premises. In 1999, El-Electric moved to the Beenleigh factory in Queensland, where operations are still run from today. El-Electric remains an Australian-owned, family-run business, and now managed by Glenn Ellemor (grandson) of founder, John Ellemor.

Designed by the man himself and inspired by his travels of the world, he has recreated a Moroccan landscape by perfectly combining the indoors and outdoors of his home. 14.01.2022 Oversized arched bifold doors, an arched lounge.... umm pinch me, surely i am dreaming?! This old Spanish farmhouse in Barcelona was transformed into a spectacular home and its fair to say, Joan Lao + Adalina Coromines absolutely nailed the design. I would love to see this space illuminated by night, showing off the exposed, centuries old, rugged stone work. We love a good reno but some things are best left untouched. via @d.signers

10.01.2022 The Ellemor family have been in the business of designing and manufacturing for generations. Francis John Ellemor (Great Great Grandfather of Glenn Ellemor - now Director of El-Electric) established F.J Ellemor Pty Ltd in 1908 and was a well known furrier in Melbourne, designing and making incredible fur coats and hats for the who's who of not only Melbourne and Australia but abroad too. I guess some would say Mr Ellemor was a hero, as described in this old newspaper ar...ticle - as he chased a bandit armed with a gun around the streets of Melbourne after he robbed the store back in the early 1940's. A man of many talents! The business continued well into the late twentieth century under management of son Wilfred. Check the fur coats in your dress up boxes or Grandma's wardrobe - there is a fair chance that the label will say "created by FJ Ellemor Furriers Melbourne" We would love to hear if this is the case! The Ellemor's Buildings still remain on Sydney Road, Brunswick. Family photo coming right up when these borders open! See more

They breathe a point of fantasy and freedom in their applications because they can be combined in variations, mixing their 4 sizes, until they achieve a more personal and dynamic lamp concept or they can keep all the ‘bells’ in the same length, achieving a more traditional image. This particular installation is certainly here for the 'wow' factor, sitting at a length of 5500mm. An amazing feature piece for the perfect commercial project. Graypants design forms have always been inspired by the natural environment around us. The Hive and Nest pendants a...re the only members of the Scraplights collection that feature angled layers.
