22.01.2022 AUTUMN COLOURS ALONG GOULD MEMORIAL DRIVE Gould Memorial Drive is an iconic stretch of road between Marysville and Buxton that is lined with giant poplars... that turn a golden colour in Autumn. The trees were originally planted by Lloyd Gould who owned several timber mills in the area from the late 1940's to 1990's and also most of the land between Marysville and Buxton. They extended from the end of the Marysville golf course all the way to Buxton on both sides of the road however, sadly many of these trees were destroyed by the Black Saturday bushfires in 2009. Since the passing of Lloyd and Joy Gould it was renamed the Gould memorial drive in memory of their service to the district and the foundation now bares their name.
