08.01.2022 Why learn piano? I could write endlessly about this question. A few thoughts may suffice. Piano has an effect on our learning that is unique in the world of Music tuition. Pianist and young piano pupils are the only people who use both sides of their frontal lobe simultaneously. This is where our higher order thinking occurs. Studies show that piano students show approximately ten percent higher in IQ testing against the general community. Piano tuition teaches discipline, helps with focus, and calms the spirit. It helps a child understand achievement. It shows you when you work regularly you play well and enjoy it and when you don’t practice you don’t play well. It’s such a simple lesson yet is hard to teach a child this concept.
