Studies have shown that if possible - washing your hands with soap and water is the most effective method to reduce the amounts of all types of germs on the skin. If this is not available, it is recommended that a sanitiser is used that contains at least 60-95% alcohol concentration (Centre for disease control, 2020). Hand sanitisers do not work as effectively as soap and water at removing grease and dirt - so it is still recommended i...f there is visible dirt on the hands to use soap and water. If a product states it is using the WHO (World Health Organisation) formula, it needs to have 80% Ethanol or 75% Isopropyl Alcohol. Some products are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (Australia) which can be determined by an AUST R number on the label. The TGA is responsible for regulating therapeutic goods including prescription medications, vaccines, vitamins and other medical products. 10.01.2022 As the weather warms up it is important to remember to apply sunscreen and cover up where possible when out in the sun! How to apply Sunscreen: Apply Sunscreen 20 minutes before going outdoors Apply at least one teaspoon per limb, one for the front of the body, one for the back and one for the head. A full body application for an adult should be at least 35mL or seven teaspoons. Reapply every 2 hours, or if in the water reapply every time you get out....
