11.01.2022 Next week on Tuesday (3 Day Group) and Friday (2 Day Group), we are asking children to wear the colour orange to preschool in celebration of Harmony Week, which coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Orange is the signature colour of Harmony Week, because it relates to social communication, aids in the development of new ideas, and frees the spirit of limitations, giving us the freedom to be ourselves. According to c...olour psychology orange encourages both self-respect and respect for others. Harmony Week is a wonderful time for Elanora Heights Community Preschool to celebrate and raise children’s awareness and appreciation of the diverse cultures around them. Celebrating diversity and bringing multicultural activities into the classroom allows children to learn about different cultures and encourages respect and inclusiveness.

10.01.2022 Community Co-op Northern Beaches is calling on all residents to open their pantries to donate spare canned food and other non perishable food items. The co-op is working closely with local support organisations to distribute food to our most vulnerable people. Every single can will help. In Elanora Heights our local drop off point is located at Elanora Heights Newsagency and Post Office, so next time you’re going to the newsagency or post office, why not take along a can o...r two to donate! #showusyourcans #kindnesspandemic

07.01.2022 The coronavirus pandemic can be a lot for anyone to get their head around, let alone young children. This video is a lighthearted way to start a conversation and help your kids understand what's happening around the world at the moment. A timely reminder, we will get through this!

06.01.2022 Children are dealing with a world that is far different than anything they’ve ever known. Add to that, the fact that their rocks parents, teachers, grandparents are all worried, stressed and just different. Everything is upside down for them. You can help by trying to bring some calm into their day. Add a bit more cuddles and relaxed playtime. Do some fun things. Maybe make a big tent in the house, have a sleepover in the family room, game night, make cookies, look at the stars. Take a breath Mum and Dad. Try to build some happy family memories into this very odd time.

02.01.2022 'By building young children’s understandings about the traditions, facts and folklore of ANZAC Day, the many real life stories of sacrifices and heroism of everyday Australians will not be lost, but be handed down to future generations' - anzacday.org.au For links to YouTube stories, please read the following:
