24.01.2022 Last Chance - Aerial Silks Lab - limited spaces for Saturday 29 February Sign up for Dancenorths new workshop for 2020 focused on the artistry of aerial silks. ...This full-day workshop, jointly led by Hayley Gorsuch (Elation Aerials) and Alice Lee Holland (Dancenorth) focuses on the artistry of aerial dance. As well as refreshing and developing your existing skills, the lab offers participants the opportunity to explore new ideas including shifting focus, rethinking transitions and translating movement qualities into the air. This course will expand the way you think about movement in the air and the choreography of aerial dance. DETAILS: 10:00am - 4:00pm Saturday 29 February (including a 1 hour lunch break) COST: $120 PRE-REQUISITES: This workshop is not on for beginners to aerial silks. Participants are required to be able to execute basic locks (e.g. footlock, hip lock), invert while off the ground and be able to hold themselves on the silks for at least one minute. 21.01.2022 **NEXT SILKS COURSE COMMENCING 14th OCTOBER** Dancenorth are excited to announce the commencement of another 6 week Aerial Silks course commencing MONDAY 14th O...CTOBER! Aerial silks is an exciting new fitness activity combining circus, dance and gymnastics. The workout is not only lots of fun, but involves the full body building flexibility, strength and confidence. Classes start with learning how to climb the fabric in a variety of ways; how to lock, wrap and secure yourself in the material before moving to stunning poses, adrenaline-pumping drops, and gravity-defying tricks. Lose yourself in the fun of practicing aerial silks with this six week intensive and come out feeling stronger and fitter than ever before! Dates: This course will run in two 3 week blocks: 1. Monday 14th OCTOBER 2. Monday 21st OCTOBER 3. Monday 28th OCTOBER ONE WEEK BREAK 4. Monday 11th NOVEMBER 5. Monday 18th NOVEMBER 6. We played with heaps of creative exercises on the ground, then took them to the skies- exploring new ways to interact with the silks and building depth and complexity into our performances.

08.01.2022 To all current, former and future students, Elation Aerials will be taking an break from teaching aerial classes this year. After some deliberation, I have decided to take a year off to focus on more specific collaborative and creative aerial projects, as well as having more time to focus on other aspects of my life. Stay tuned for some news on upcoming aerial intensive workshops or pm for details. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching aerial silks in Townsville over the past 6... years and sharing my love of aerial dance with so many amazing, strong, courageous and inspiring women. I am grateful to have shared this time with you. I feel grateful to have contributed to building aerial dance in Townsville in a way that is safe and fun. I wish you all well in your future practise. I hope it brings you as much joy as it has me. Huge thanks to Louise Kiiver of Aerial Dynamics, forever my teacher and friend. Thankyou for sharing your passion for silks with me so many years ago. Love you and look forward to some creative projects together.
