19.01.2022 Weather looking pretty good for the first EA Sunday training ride of the year. Ride option 1 on the menu - Lobethal via Montacute Rd, and back via Onkaparinga Valley Road. 6am start at the Greenhill and King William Rd bus stop. 95km. Should take 3.5 hrs.

15.01.2022 Its time for an update of the EA cycling kit. This time were doing jerseys only and in a colour scheme that will match with black bibs. That way, you can still wear your favourite bibs while proudly sporting an EA branded jersey. Once again, weve decided to go with Ventou - a local Australian manufacturer. Weve found their quality to be second-to-none. Ventou have 3 different jersey options and weve gone for the top of the line Pro Jersey. Its made from Italian sourced... fabric and has an anatomical designed racing cut - in other words, its a slim fit. In addition, we have decided to sell the jerseys at cost - $120 - which makes it exceptional value. However, in order for us to make this viable, orders have to be received and paid for prior to 15th March. 14.01.2022 A good example of the potential perils of purchasing cycling orthotics - whether they be custom or off the shelf - without proper evaluation of the effect on individual dynamic foot biomechanics. In this case the client has been prescribed a custom orthotic that has aggressively inverted the foot, placing an inordinate amount of pressure on the outside of the foot along with a subsequent eversion moment, leading to discomfort and a feeling of power loss (image on the right). ...The image on the left shows the dynamic pressure pattern without any insole and it clearly shows an improvement in pressure distribution. While we may still be able to optimise the clients foot biomechanics even further (a work in progress), this case provides a good example of how poorly executed interventions can do more harm than good. #elbowsakimbobikefit #bikefitting @gebiomized

07.01.2022 A great example of how we use our plantar (foot) pressure mapping software to good effect. This client was unable to ride for more than 70kms before experiencing significant foot discomfort. A baseline analysis showed a relatively small and forward contact area in the forefoot (first image). A change of cleat position and a pair of Solestar Kontrol insoles has resulted in a larger and more rearward contact area (second image). The most important thing though is that the clien...ts comfort is vastly improved: "I have ridden four consecutive days over Easter, with today being the longest at 105kms. Im happy to report, that while I have not increased my speed on the bike, I have had no foot pain. Today was a real test and in the past I would have been in agony for the last 30-40kms. So a huge thank you for the meticulous attention to detail you put in to helping me out. It has restored by enjoyment in riding again." #solestar #gebioMized
