18.01.2022 http:// PLAYER SIGNING - ANTE KNEŽEVI We welcome awesome news this morning as we announce that the legendary Anthony (Ante) Kneževi will partake in the 2020 season. Kneževi is a die-hard North Fan who sometimes falls over fences due to over-celebrating, but then again he is a terrific player to have the club. The 20 year old defender who has been a North Geelong Warriors junior since Under 7's is ready to strike back on the pitch and enjoy some good football. ... Kneževi on the season ahead, after going undefeated last year it was a no brainer to stay on and push for another good season. The boys at the club and the coaching staff are all a good bunch of lads. I can’t wait for us to get going. Coach Jamie Noggler regarding Kneževi's addition, Ante boasts the morale of all players with his presence and passion for the club. A solid player who’s never shy of putting himself on the line for the team and always gives his all. We are very happy with his decision to sign on for the season and can’t wait to see him doing wonders on the pitch. Welcome back Ante!

18.01.2022 // MATCH DAY AT ELCHO PARK! Isn't nice to be able to end the year with a game Throwback to our first match of 2020 when we hosted State League 5 outfit - St.Kevins Old Boys SC in February in the FFA Cup qualifying round 1. A moment to remember being the club's first ever time involved in a national competition. Although narrowly missing out on the result, an awesome effort from the team after spending only two training sessions. We even made it possible for a local 'Sund...ay League' team match to be livestreamed! And today, we welcome FC Leopold in a friendly as we play our 2nd (and final) game of the year. We will also have our bar operating, something the club and supporters have dearly missed! A reminder that football cannot operate without its biggest stakeholders - its participants, supporters, and the people working behind the scenes. A challenging yet committed year, from everyone involved at Elcho Park including the North Geelong Warriors football family, as well as our valued sponsors & partners. So congratulations to all who have supported us through this unprecedented journey - 2020 Thank you. From - The Board, Players & Coaching Staff.

11.01.2022 http:// PLAYER SIGNING - STUART BEGG Elcho Park Cardinals are extremely excited to announce the signing of former North Geelong Warriors junior Stuart Begg. Begg is a Warriors junior and youth player and played as a striker early in his career within the National Youth League which was followed by a short stint in the Victorian Premier League for the Warriors. He then moved onto Bell Park SC as a winger/midfielder.... Begg later spent some time with Geelong SC and subsequently settled himself at Geelong Rangers SC for over a decade with more than 400 match appearances for the state league outfit as a centre defensive midfielder helping them pick up three titles along the way. Begg would eventually take on a role as Rangers’ Senior Head Coach in 2017 before switching over to North Geelong Warriors as Senior Assistant Coach from 2019 as well as involvement with the Warriors U20s in the National Premier League. Even whilst juggling between coaching roles, Begg was still actively competing in the local competition with Geelong Rangers SC alongside many of his friends. After months of negotiations, we were able to attract Begg back to playing at Elcho Park and support our men’s campaign this season. Coach Ahmad Sulaimi, I’ve been trying to get Stu back playing at Elcho Park for a while. Finally got him over the line as it came down to an extra tray of evape per week as part of the lucrative deal. Awesome value. Nonetheless, ‘Beggsy’ is a major coup for the squad given his vast experience and exceptional football brain alongside his skills. Not sure about him playing striker again, but we always try to accommodate reasonable requests. He will fit in perfectly with the crew that we’ve put together this season. Sometimes he even gets to train with the Warriors 1st team playing as a joker. He somewhat looks fitter than ever. Begg on returning to Elcho Park, it’s been a while since I’ve worn the red, white and blue, however I’m sure the boys will help me adapt quickly. A new challenge lies ahead and I’m sure it will also put a new energy into these old legs. Really looking forward in helping the boys in any way that I can. Welcome back Beggsy! It's also Stuart's birthday, best wishes from all at Elcho Park!

09.01.2022 http:// PLAYER SIGNING - ALAN PALEKA Elcho Park Cardinals confirm the capture of former North Geelong Warriors senior player Alan Paleka. Paleka becomes the latest Cardinal signing having been previously been involved with St.Albans Vukovar and Gospic Bears for the past two seasons. Most notably, Paleka was a member of St.Albans Dinamo and North Geelong Warriors SC senior teams in the Victorian Premier League and State League 1 respectively.... Paleka has played in multiple roles. In his prime, an unassailable centre-half and full-back. Later in his career he would also contribute to dictating centre midfield as well as being a formidable forward. Paleka on returning to Elcho Park, I’ve missed playing in red, white, and blue. The travel to compete in Melbourne weekly with my previous teams was also becoming a little difficult. So, I’ve decided to return to Elcho Park and to stay on top of my fitness, also in case the Warriors seniors need player with experience and resilience - I’m available! Coach Ahmad Sulaimi Jamie and I are thrilled to have Alan play on with us this season. He played a full match in the FFA Cup earlier this year in which the squad had barely any prior training, Alan didn’t look to miss a beat. I know of Alan’s qualities and experience from him playing 1st team football for Dinamo & North alongside many other notable Victorian football legends. I can confirm he will be an integral member this season. We’re really excited and looking forward to Alan linking up with the other experienced boys in Beggsy, Chooka, Luba & Dodger. It’s important to have a balance within the squad and Alan along with these guys will help guide the younger boys. We wish Alan the very best. Welcome back Alan!

05.01.2022 http:// PLAYER SIGNING - ANTHONY SERTI Congratulations to Anthony Serti who returns to boyhood club and commits to season 2020. After a brief break away from the National Premier League - last playing with the Warriors U20 in 2018, the 21 year old defensive midfielder couldn’t wait to get back and involved with many of his former teammates and friends.... Serti is another long-time North Geelong Warriors junior having been involved in the setup since 2004. Coach Jamie Noggler shares his thoughts, Serti will be another key midfielder for us this season and enters the squad with previous NPL experience which will be valuable for us this season. He has the potential to change the tempo of a match and put pressure back onto opposition. We are extremely glad to have him sign this season and can’t wait to see what he can provide on the pitch with for our Cardinal mens team. Serti on returning as a Cardinal, I’m delighted to be part of this seasons squad. Elcho Park has always been my second home and I have dedicated many years playing at the club. Once there was a chance to return, there were no second thoughts about putting back on the red, white and blue again. After a successful season last year, the teams have been given confidence to push even harder to gain promotions which is in the intentions of everyone involved in this squad as well as playing quality football together. Welcome back Anthony!

05.01.2022 // MATCH RESULT vs FC LEOPOLD 1-0 was the full time result from today's preseason hitout against FC Leopold with Cardinals' midfielder Stuart Begg sealing the victory. A positive end to the year from both teams and we thank FC Leopold FC for making the trip down to Elcho Park. We look forward to the return leg in 2021.... The Cardinals will enjoy a short break over the festive period and training will recommence in the new year.

04.01.2022 // BIRTHDAY shoutout to champion goalkeeper JIM BURLEIGH! Best wishes Jimbo!

03.01.2022 http:// PLAYER SIGNING - JAMES TRIPODI Elcho Park Cardinals welcomes back winger James Tripodi. A Bell Park SC junior and later progressing into North Geelong Warriors National Premier League program, most recently with the U16 and U18 squads respectively.... Tripodi had taken a break from football in 2018 to concentrate on studies and returned the following year playing senior football with State League 4 Club Golden Plains Eagles SC as a fullback. An opportunity to return to Elcho Park presented itself in 2020 for a fresh start and the 20 year old is delighted to be a part of this year’s campaign. Tripodi on the season ahead, I know the boys are going to give it all this season for further promotion and I want to be a part of that journey and be able to add to last year’s successes. I can see potential for additional growth of the club and I also look forward to reuniting with former teammates. Coach Jamie Noggler on Tripodi’s acquisiton, Tripa is a very hard working individual. He gives 100% every time he steps onto the pitch, regardless if it’s training or on match day. We are happy that he has decided to join us this season and James will give us the extra 'spark' we were looking for. We wish him all the best this season. Welcome back James!

02.01.2022 http:// PLAYER SIGNING - IVAN LUBURI We are proud to announce that defender Ivan Luburi has committed to the 2020 season. Luburi, a junior and youth player for North Geelong Warriors has returned to Elcho Park as one of the most experienced members in the squad. Luburi will play a key role in particular in the back line where he will join forces with fellow experience defenders Michael Radojevi and Stuart Begg. ... Coach Ahmad Sulaimi on Luburi playing for the Cardinals, It’s great to have ‘Luba’ back playing with us. In the past when North has had teams in the Sunday League, he’s always put his hand up to play so we’re happy to always have him involved. Calm as always on the ball and great passing ability, Ivan he will add so much value to the squad along with a few other experienced boys, it is definitely a good balance and we're rapt to have him on board. Luburi on returning, I’m happy to be back involved at Elcho Park. We have a lot of boys who are returning to the club and I’m looking forward to the season beginning and playing some good football.
