21.01.2022 This is one of the best photography days I've ever had. On a small island I walked as far away as I could from the main "cruise" spots until I came across a far flung camp ground. Using my French I asked the Manager if I could access their beach for some photos, and was allowed to go right ahead. I stayed as long as I could knowing I had a long walk back to the tender boats. If I missed the tender I would have been camping lol. The rock pools on this escarpment were crystal... clear and made a great foreground for some daytime long exposures. Created in camera using Sony's Smooth Reflections app. 256 shots merged in camera then completed in Lightroom. Isle of Pines, New Caledonia. 19.01.2022 I had a fun day out yesterday, taking my Son for a drive in his new car to get his L hours up... and testing out this little Fujian 35mm F1.7 CCTV lens from China. I paid $34 for this lens, landed, with an adaptor and can't remember the last time I had so much fun with a lens! Pictured mounted on my A7Rii which I ran in crop mode to avoid heavy vignetting in full frame.... The lens displays lovely swirly bokeh at times, and is incredible sharp in the centre. The edges do fall away but I kind of like it. For the money, I can certainly live with it. Such a fun, quirkly little lens!

03.01.2022 After trying so many different vintage lenses, I had been really wanting to try shooting with a vintage camera, on film! So today I gave it my first go! I picked up a Ricoh XR-10 which came with a Ricoh 35-70 f3.5 to f4 lens, and what a mint combo.. Film was Fuji 400 as I wanted a fairly general film for my first go and the ISO 400 suited the darker conditions in Brisbane today.... After shooting the roll I raced out to @fotofast_brisbane who were awesome and developed and scanned the roll in an hour!
