So far they have made an appearance at JCU, Campus Village, Wild Yeast FNQ (fabulous coffee, cakes, doughnuts and bread) and will be going to Little Diggers Playgroup Cairns on Friday. ... Miss Lizzy has kindly offered to take some to Holloways Beach We want to get the word out about awesome we are. We have a little room for some more friends but the spots wont be around for long! One has a prosthetic limb and one uses crutches. ... These will make a great addition to our Small Works Play Environments and will also be used as Teaching Tools. #learningthroughplay #inclusion

20.01.2022 Over the past few days Miss Helen has been asking our 4 Year Kindergarten Children the same question which is: Is it my turn yet? From her office she has been observing the Children developing their Creative, Imagination and Fine Motor Skills whilst designing their own masterpieces on the Smart Board ... Well they say Patience is a virtue and Miss Helen finally got her turn today! The Team are in the process of updating their ‘Meet the Staff’ Flyer so over the next few weeks we will be introducing the Educators one room at a time. Lets start it off with some Team Information. 1. There is 234 Years of Child Care Industry Experience within the ELC Smithfield Team. 2. Three of the Team have worked at the Centre more than 10 Years. 3. Four have worked at the Centre for more than 5 Years. 3. Miss Savita holds her Bachelor of Education Nine Educators hold their Diploma in ECE Three Educators are studying for their Diploma in ECE. Five Educators hold their Cert III in ECE Three Educators are studying for their Cert III in ECE. We have siblings who work at the Centre (Miss Sue and Miss Loretta. Four Educators have their own Children enrolled at the Centre. Love what you Do, Do what you Love I think you will agree that all these facts prove just that

10.01.2022 Today our sandpit was transformed in to an animal habitat. We had a stream running through it so our sea creatures were safe and the addition of some rocks, leaves, wood, pebbles and bark provided our other animals with their own special place Great team work, creativity and imagination

04.01.2022 Junior Kindy 1 were introduced to our new natural threading sets today. The children often get frustrated at not being able to thread the string through the holes. Not a problem with these sets. The holes in the wood circles are rather large as is the threading stick They also make perfect stacking tools.
