19.01.2022 WANALTA FARMING FAMILY DONATE PROCEEDS OF LAMB SALE TO THE GOOD FRIDAY APPEAL As we head into Easter, Victoria's Royal Children's Hospital prepares for its ...biggest fundraiser of the year, the Good Friday Appeal. And each year, in regional Victoria, sheep farmers, Bill and Katrina Ogden make a special donation. In 2013 their newborn son Heath became suddenly ill and since then, every year, they sell 10 of their lambs on the Monday before Easter, and donate the money to the appeal. This year, the prices at the Bendigo saleyards didn't disappoint, with 10 lambs sold for $315 a head to Midfield Meats.

15.01.2022 The merino fleece attracted strong widespread competition, pushing prices continually higher across all microns and descriptions. As buyers fought hard to secure quantity, the market continued to rise until the final hammer. So much so, that is a very rare occurrence, by the end of the week the individual Micron Price Guides (MPGs) in the West (which sold last) for 18.0 through to 20.0 micron were higher than in the East.

14.01.2022 The Australian wool market has continued to perform erratically, with upward and downward price fluctuations experienced within for the series, for the second c...onsecutive week. The overall price increases of the previous series encouraged more sellers to the market, pushing the national quantity up to 37,512 bales. See more

The skirtings again followed a similar path to the fleece with general rises of between 80 and 140 cents, 18.0 micron and finer skirtings most affected. The crossbreds also increased but not at the same rate as their merino cousins, the MPGs for 26.0 to 30.0 added 17 to 45 cents for the series.
