In a positive sign for the following week, the Fremantle region selling last, continually strengthened as the sale progressed. So much so, that the Fremantle MPGs for 19.0 to 21.0 micron closed at higher levels than those in Sydney and Melbourne.

02.01.2022 Week 21 Wool Report - Paul Noble Welcome to my Weekly Wool Report for Sale Week 21. A two-day sale this week saw a price decrease of 24 cents for the Southern AWEX indicator, finishing at 1125 cents. Tuesday, the market fell back and Wednesday we saw the market steady. Quite a lot of business was done after the sale and on Thursday. This leads me to think that they are expecting wool to rise and were attempting to buy wool at this week’s price levels. The wool market is stead...ily increasing in a yoyo fashion but ultimately while the pandemic is still present, it will only be a steady rise and maybe flattening out from time to time. You would expect the wool market to be in more positive territory in the next month or so with the recess approaching and their winter at its height soon. Greasy stocks are also at a low in China which is always encouraging. Until then, we wait for confidence to build again and the availability of the vaccine. The market is expected to show gains next week. Sale Week 21: 20,280 bales were offered for sale over the two days, Sale Week 21. Passed in rates of 17.1% on Tuesday and 19.6% on Wednesday. The Southern Indicator over the two days decreased by 24 cents to finish 1125 cents. If you would like to receive Paul's full wool report every Friday, with more on currency news and China as well as Paul’s own summary for the week - please call or email him on the details below to be added to this group. p: 0409 487 017 e: [email protected] Disclaimer: The information in this report is general in nature and has not been prepared taking into account your personal circumstances.
