09.01.2022 Deniliquin Fat Sheep Sale held Tuesday 18th August 2020 A total yarding of 11,400 head were penned at Deniliquin comprising of 5500 new season lambs. 4500 old lambs and 950 mutton. Market trend was cheaper on last sale. New season lamb quality was very good with all lambs showing freshness and cover. You could throw a blanket over the price range of sucker lambs of $29/head. Best pen of heavy sucker lambs made $167 to the lightest pen of sucker lambs at $138. Most of trade ...to heavy suckers made between $150-$155/head to range between $6-$6.50/kg. lighter suckers made from $145-$150/head to make up to $6.70-80/kg. Old lamb quality was good topping at $178 with most ranging between $150-$166 irrespective of weight to be cheaper on last market. A small number of hoggets were penned and topped at $170.20 and most ranged between $140-$155/head. Only 950 sheep were yarded and topped at $170 for extra heavy ewes. Heavy sheep ranged $140-$160. Trade sheep $110-$135 and light sheep $90-$105 to range between 430-480 c/kg. a full field of buyers were operating on the day.
