11.01.2022 Emerald feeder and weaner sale was again a date circled on most peoples calendars with the combined agents yarding a total of 5037 head. Feeders steers topped at 387c to average 372c, yearlings topped the market at 456c to average 404c whilst calves up to 200kg saw to heights of 468c to see and average of 414c. Feeders heifers were firm on prior markets seeing them top at 348c to average 322c. Yearlings were in strong demand pushing heights of 384c to average 355c, whilst the calves up to 200 topped at 381c to average 357c.

Weaner steers under 220kg topped at 496c/kg and averaged 467c/kg, weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 494c/kg and averaged 434c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 472c/kg and averaged 400c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 440c/kg and averaged 378c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 396c/kg and averaging 369c/kg.

Weaner steers under 220kg topped at 536c/kg and averaged 465c/kg, weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 490c/kg and averaged 445c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 488c/kg and averaged 414c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 405c/kg and averaged 386c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 401c/kg and averaging 359c/kg.

A yarding of mixed quality cattle seen some big changes from last weeks market. Heavy bullocks over 550kg sold to 330 cents to average 321c/kg, bullocks 500-550kg sold to 328 cents for an average of 312c/kg, a very good run of heavy steers from 400-500kg made to 387c/kg to average 365 cents, feeder steers from 350-400kg reached 385c/kg to average 367 cent...s, medium weight steers 280-350kg sold to a top of 399c/kg to average 342c/kg, while weaner steers 200-280kg sold to 440c/kg to average 384 cents. Heavy heifers over 400kg sold to a top of 334c/kg to average 296 cents, 280-350kg heifers made to 341c/kg to average 323 cents, while 200-280kg weaner heifers sold to a top of 330 cents to average 312c/kg. Heavy cows over 520kg topped at 312c/kg to average 276 cents, while cows 450-520kg reached 284 cents to average 262c/kg.
