Check the weather forecast! Register your burn by ringing 1800 668 511 so the fire brigade don't get called to a false alarm! Notify your neighbours. Stay Safe!!

19.01.2022 Welcome to our newest members of our team.

19.01.2022 In light of the current restrictions due to COVID-19, I think it is worth noting the following available advice regarding leaving early and traveling to prepare property for the coming fire season. Advice around leaving early can now be found on the CFA website https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare, your Bushfire Safety Plan and Covid-19 and follow the links. DHHS now have advice on their website regarding traveling to prepare your property for emergencies, these can be found at https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/emergencies-and-coronavi

19.01.2022 CFA has attended several House fires related to Wood fires over the past month, these were attributed to ; Blocked / uncleaned chimney Inappropriate maintenance of a chimney Bin fire against the house caused by hot ashes Ducted vacuum system fire caused by hot ashes... Wood Fire Safety. Chimneys and flues should be cleaned annually. Empty Ashes in to a metal container, and wait until completely COLD to dispose of... Don’t put ashes straight into your compost bin or on the ground near the house. If you vacuum your fire box, wait until it is completely cold, immediately empty the dust collector of the vacuum in to a metal container. Open Wood fires need a fire screen. Keep flammable items 1 metre from the heater. Don’t overload fire places and wood heaters. Extinguish open fires before leaving home or going to sleep.

18.01.2022 Hi, The Community Safety Co-ordinator for Eldorado Fire Brigade is Jim Buchan: email [email protected] I will respond as soon as possible and help where I can.

16.01.2022 It pays to have a Working Smoke Alarm!

16.01.2022 Chiltern and Eldorado residents may see or smell smoke from the ignition of two planned burns tomorrow, Thursday 1 April. The Chiltern Gravel Pit Track (409-...hectares) and Eldorado - Davitts Swamp Road (183-hectares) planned burns aim to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires near Chiltern, Eldorado and surrounding communities. Edgars Track, Gravel Pit Track, Bear Track and PX Road will be closed while the Chiltern burn is being carried out. Davitt’s Swamp Road, Reedy Creek Road and Mulls Firetrail will also be closed for public safety during the Eldorado burn. Forest Fire Management Victoria carries out this work to reduce fuel loads, making it more likely that firefighters can contain bushfires before they spread and impact on people, property and the environment. We understand that smoke from planned burns may cause concern for some people, but we are taking every opportunity to burn while forest and weather conditions allow and it’s safe to do so. To find out when and where planned burns are happening near you, go to or sign up at www.vic.gov.au/plannedburns or call 1800 226 226.
