20.01.2022 Good luck today with your first day at trade school Jordan. Been on board 3 months and already come so far. Can’t wait to train you up to become the best electrician possible

20.01.2022 It’s always a wonderful experience playing a part in making someone’s dreams become a reality. We recently had the pleasure of working with Troy Grundy Plastering 0411354573 and Cory from Built4you 0401330616 in building the salon for Lizi’s Hair Creations. Cory did a fantastic job with installing the internal walling frame to divide the garage, external walling frame for the sliding glass door entrance and subflooring.... We installed a series of downlights and a pendant light at the entrance to help give Lizi’s Hair Creations a welcoming, bright and vibrant vibe. It’s important that Lizi’s customers are comfortable when coming in, we helped make sure this is possible with wiring in a new split system. So, no matter what Melbourne weather is throwing at us outside, customers are happy and comfortable inside! It was a pleasure working with Cory Built 4 You Carpentry & Maintenance. Thank you for letting us play a part in this renovation, the final product looks fantastic. We wish Lizi all the best with her hair salon! Whether it’s a whole new lighting design you’re after or just a couple of extra power points, Electrikel is happy to help! Get in touch with us today through Facebook, Instagram, email or phone to see how we can help you achieve that new home makeover you’re after!

15.01.2022 Thankyou Mark from M.L.K electrics for advising our network of sparkys about this emergency fault job you could not attend. Was happy to help and attend the property before any serious damage occurred.

06.01.2022 I put together some basic info for a girl looking at doing work experience. Hope this helps for anyone looking to do a trade From the beginning I think you should do year 12 and look into a school based apprenticeship. Well worth sticking it out.... As for trades your best option is an electrician or plumber. Carpenters are good once they get their builders licence. There are mostly 2 types of jobs, commercial and domestic. Commercial is mostly building sites- in the city with unions. Domestic is houses. In that there is 2 types of work, new and existing. I have my own business and mostly do domestic maintenance. Installing new light and power circuits, fault finding, repairs, switchboards, tv, data, cameras, aircon, solar, etc. Single phase and three phase. (Something different everyday). I’ve just hired my first apprentice 2 months ago, had my own business 1.5 years, been qualified 3 years, and started my apprenticeship 8 years ago. My old company had 10 A-grade sparkys, hired contractors when they were busy, Had contracts with schools, councils, and had an event section (yes I get so work some awesome festivals and events through Melbourne). I never had many problems with guys at work or clients, yes everyone has their stories but overall i felt comfortable and welcomed. Back in the day I believe it was very different, these days most people have adapted and enjoy seeing a girl do what she loves. Girls now know they have the opportunities to achieve anything. The media scares me on how they push ‘women in trade’. I just love doing what I do and stick to myself. I work hard every day, I never stop learning and love everything about it. And once you get past the apprenticeship, the pay is good
