10.01.2022 / / PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL / / ESV is urging Victorians to check the brand/model of their oil heaters immediately, as Bunnings has issued an urgent recall for th...eir Moretti 11 Fin Oil Column Heater, as the heater may rupture when turned on and allow hot oil to spray out, causing scalding and burns. There have been two recorded instances of this failure in the past week in Victoria. Affected heaters have 'Batch Code 12/16' and 'OLN 9532' or 'OLN 9539' and were sold through Bunnings in 2017. Other batches of this model ('MC35B2') are not affected by the recall. If you have one of these oil heaters, stop using it heater immediately and return it to the nearest Bunnings store as soon as possible for a full refund. If you require further information about this recall go to the Bunnings recalls page or contact Bunnings' call centre on 1300 366 155.

05.01.2022 Is your Bathroom or Ensuite cold or constantly damp? Feeling cold when you get out of the shower? A few nice additions to this little bathroom today. Replaced a standard towel rail for a low wattage Heated Towel Ladder, installed a 3 in 1 Heat Tastic, and replaced the inefficient exhaust fan for something more powerful and externally ducted.
04.01.2022 A few progress photos of a full house rewire and switchboard upgrade we recently completed. This house has been fully transformed and looking much more tidy and fresh.
01.01.2022 A perfect example why you should NEVER 'Do It Yourself' I recently completed a kitchen renovation and found two general PowerPoints on a 32amp Cooktop circuit, with 1.5mm (lighting) cable feeding them, which is rated to 6-10amps. I traced the cable under the house to find where it was joined into the cooktop circuit. No insulated connectors just twisted and taped. The earth conductor going to the PowerPoints wasn't even connected. ... 1) The 1.5mm cable was not suitably protected from overload, which could have resulted in the cable melting from overload and starting a house fire. 2) If the cooktop circuit was to be protected by a safety switch, without the earth conductor being connected, the safety switch would not detect a fault to earth, and not operate. Resulting in severe electrical shock or electrocution. Can I please remind everybody to NEVER attempt to do their own Electrical work. Always call a licensed Electrical Contractor. If you need any Electrical work completed, please call me on 0401 556 654 Thank you, Marcus
