08.01.2022 The new $5 note being distributed from the 1st September may not be as ugly as people think. Early images were released and propegated from news articles around the country. Unfortunately the design was displayed on a blue background to essentuate the differences to the existing note. This made the clear panels appear blue and also darkened the colours. The truth is that the panels are actually clear and the colours aren't as harsh as they seem. Have a look at the attched pic...ture with the notes against a light background. An issue which may catch some business operators out is the fact that their note counters and sorters may not be able to detect the new notes. Some models can be upgraded.
