25.01.2022 Hey guys check out this frame I made at the Perth Wood School.....What a great day today learning how to make frames!! These guys are so helpful and such a great source for learning anything you want to make out of wood.... there is an hourly rate for 1:1 tutoring or you can just use the workshop also at an hourly rate..once you know what you are doing. They were super friendly and enthusiastic.... going back next week to see if I can remember what to do!! @ Perth Wood School

23.01.2022 Ive been a bit quiet on Facebook lately, working on this blue painting. Also rearranging my front rooms. Hoping to have it finished in a couple of days....Cant wait to show you ! Im waiting for a new light to go in on Monday, which should reflect crystal beams throughout the room Yay...In the meantime here is this blue piece...hope you like it!

22.01.2022 So I thought I would try my luck at a horizontal .... its so nice to have a few clear days I can finish off some of these paintings today!! So happy to have a few together.... @ Burswood, Western Australia

22.01.2022 Very happy with the depth created with layers and layers and textural scratching into it as I go.... so excited where this is taking me. I have been feeling quite stuck and intimidated at times with this, because my critic takes over, but if I paint in company Im able to somehow soften around that harshness.....

21.01.2022 Had a few scary moments with this one but she came together in totally unexpected ways. There is a fair bit more crayon and white pencil work which really helps with the colours.... cant wait to start the next ones.... @ Burswood, Western Australia

Hoping to work with less saturated colours (that means not so strong) while I work up the painting.... then will increase the saturation towards the end...... 14.01.2022 Oh my golly gosh... this one really stretched me.... I went into a bit of a meltdown yesterday with it.....unsure of what I needed to do to it.... looked outside of myself for some answers and that made me feel even more inadequate..... finally after some deep processing I just relaxed into the not knowing and after an hours sleep overnight I woke up with the solution...... I sanded it back to scuff up some of the underneath layers and now I am loving it..... its reflecting the path taken , the journey has left me a bit battered and beaten on the inside, but stretched.....it has a well travelled but still favourite pair of jeans feel about it..... @ Burswood, Western Australia

11.01.2022 Yesterday I took my paintings down to the gallery to hang, while I was waiting for David I thought I may as well sit them out in the sunshine and take a photo!! Felt quite happy seeing them all in a row like this... the Gallery is on High Street in Fremantle and has lots of different kinds of works to look at with four rooms full of art!! Its a real adventure and right beside the Japinga Aboriginal Art Gallery which really blows me away.... That work is so powerful.... oh boy... anyone been there????

11.01.2022 Back into it this week! Working on the right hand corner area building up the layers. Enjoyed painting this napkin, and looking forward to painting kore of it next week.... the paper bags are yet to be lightened and the leaves still needs ng more consistency with colour.... These apples are reminding me of a snack you can make with haloumi cheese and sliced Granny Smith apples dry fried.... yum!!

10.01.2022 A while ago I learned I needed to be living in colour, since then I have painted every room in my cottage and some rooms several times, it is so lovely to be painting in the kitchen this evening with the last of the light shining through the wrought iron doors.... The crochet tablecloth I dyed with Annie Sloan Napoleon blue chalk paint. It is now the same hue as the walls and ceiling.... the contrast of the dark interior with the lightness of the painting is quite exquisite to me :-). Feeling grateful to be in this elderly cottage and all she offers.... @ Burswood, Western Australia

09.01.2022 Arent people just sooo cool sometimes? Today it was coming to close to one of my classmates big birthdays....anyway the teacher disappeared for a while and next minute there are glasses of champagne being poured to celebrate.... she had just made magic appear, and even provided me with a glass of my own drink as I dont have alcohol.... talk about attending to the details!! Super sweet and accomodating. Thankyou for such a lovely class today Cher @studio124collective . If you are ever up Wellington Street in Mosman Park its well worth poking your head in for a quick squiz at all the work people are doing, its quite sensational I have to say:-)

09.01.2022 Todays piece has had layers and layers of paint, some places there are 7! Some abstract artists talk about letting the history of the painting show through. The bottom circle is where I started with mark making and then I kept building up with markers, crayons, china markers (my favourite) and also pencils. I havent found a way of doing these paintings very quickly, I have to look at them and think a lot about which colours go where.... the canvas is quite thick with paint... and lots of texture with scratching detail throughout.... I think they look great on these smooth modern walls..... 01.01.2022 Playing with transfers.... this writing was done using an old IODtransfer I had ... I’m very happy with it!! And the other script under the napkin was made using the IOD kindest regards decor stamp!! So happy with this addition! Hoping to step out of the safe zone and start on the glass vase today....
