25.01.2022 A L I T T L E L I F E U P D A T E These past 4 years truly have been an absolute whirlwind for me. Life has been completely insane and most days I struggle to maintain this beautiful balance (both mentally and physically ) between my boys, my family, my friends and my business. In late 2015 my beautiful mumma duck was diagnosed with cancer + started weekly chemotherapy... In July 2016 we had 4 glorious months where mum was in NED (no evidence of disease), Ill never forget hearing those heartwarming words In Oct 2016 my incredibly strong mumma commenced monthly maintenance chemotherapy In Nov 2016 I married my man surrounded by all of our favourite humans In June 2017 we welcomed our big boy Elliot Cruz into the world who absolutely loves to test my patience and yet, I still adore him In Nov 2017 we found out that our little surprise sapling #2 was happily absorbing all of my energy In Feb 2018 my mumma started a Clinical Trial in hope to beat the cancer In Aug 2018 we welcomed our littlest boy Theo James into the world who I think was my saviour. He and Elliot soon became my only drive to get through the pain that was about to come my way Because in late Aug 2018 my darling mumma duck took her final breathe after one incredible fight and I have missed her immensely everyday since So, my point? My point is to highlight that throughout the crazyness of the last 4 years, I have absolutely loved having my business to focus on. Alongside of my family and my friends, my business keeps me sane and keeps me focused. And I fucking love that I can say with a *hand on my heart* that work is like a day off for me, I just LOVE what I do. I guess thats why I (somewhat) selfishly run back into my salon and weddings.... because well, who else has 2 under 2? Which brings me to my next point..... with Sapling #3 due at the end of September (yes, you may consider me crazy), I will be commencing my maternity leave at the end of August and returning for weddings in late Feb 2021. I am currently a little unsure of when I plan to return to back to the salon, and thought I would give myself a few months of adjusting to life with 3 under 3 before making that decision - but I promise to keep you all updated It is one wild wedding season coming up and were so excited for it! Whilst I am maternity leave, Cherie and Alex will be ofcourse still weaving their wands and creating magic Thanks for reading! She has all one length hair which as most #hairstylists know it can be challenging to achieve such bounce without layering... BUT WE DID IT!... 23.01.2022 Three things to consider when deciding if you want or need to incorporate hair extensions into your upstyle 1. How full do you want your hair to feel and look? and will you be comfortable with this added volume? 2. Do you want your bun to be the feature of your look and the fullness to be seen from the front? Or would you prefer a smaller, more simpler bun?... 3. If youre having your hair down, do you want your hair to look incredibly voluptuous and full? Or does you have skinny hair and need extensions to assist with your natural hair holding the wave? Or, do you? For those of you out there that can stand those slick bun days, I have the answer for you. Welcome to @nakhair #styletherapy This product could potentially put your best friend out of business. ... Want some hot tips on how to combat that serious slick you got going on? You REALLY, really need to wash your hair but don’t have time? Just spray this throughout your roots AND midlength, leaving for a few minutes to create fullness and revitalise your hair to get your through the next 24 hours You kinda need to wash your hair but can’t be bothered? Just spray this throughout your roots only, wait a few minutes and toushle through the ends Your hair too soft and fluffy and you just want some texture through-out your ends? Just a few sprays throughout mid lengths and tousle.. You’ll now find yourself some texture and grit to play with, instantly giving you that next-day-bed-hair-look You wanna add some hold to your textured pony? Just go ahead and spray some through your tousled ends **Please note; the reason I say wait a few minutes is because you need to allow the botanical powdery puffs to work their magic. So I sincerely hope that this product saves you from any dramatic last minute showers and hasty makeup applications. For this pony, I used @cloudninec9 irons to softly wave the hair, I then sprayed Style Therapy through-out the ends before applying #doneanddusted to the root area. 19.01.2022 In light of the last few weeks, I thought Id share some HOT TIPS about some HOT TOPICS when scheduling your wedding day to hopefully ensure your special day runs just that little bit more smoother! Ensure you are always in contact with ALL of your vendors especially during the 4-6 weeks leading up to your wedding day. THIS IS A MUST! Please, please, please allow for travel time to your venue when you are planning out your day. ... And allow for atleast 1 hour per person for hair and 1 hour per person for makeup. There are some superstars out there that may only be 45 minutes per person... but wouldnt you rather have extra time up your sleeve? The last hour will literally fly by in the blink of an eye, so please, for the love of your own sanity, allow atleast 1hr-2hrs between finishing hair and makeup and leaving for your ceremony! Our usual go-to upstyle is generally super soft and what I would consider #effortlesshair but when our brides sit in our chair and ask for something like this we get so bloody excited! Because who doesnt love a challenge, right!? Creating #classichairupstyles is challenging because to get every little strand into place can be either easy or incredibly difficult depending o...n the nature of the hair so it is ALWAYS better to work with hair that is a couple of days old that has exisiting natural oils throughout to help eliminate any flyaways and it also helps add more structure because the hair isnt "toosoft" to work with.... Are YOU, your SISTER, your MUM or your FRIEND even AWARE of the SYMPTOMS that may be caused by Gynaecological Cancer !? abnormal or persistent vaginal bleeding for example, bleeding after menopause, bleeding that is not part of menstrual periods, or bleeding after s*x unusual vaginal discharge pain, pressure or discomfort in the abdomen swelling of the abdomen change in bowel or bladder habits pain during s*x itching, burning or soreness lumps, sores or wart-like growths. 10.01.2022 Have you lost a loved one to #Cancer? In August 2018, my beautiful mum took her final breathes after what was an incredibly strong battle with Stage IV Endometrial Cancer. Her 2.5 year fight defied the statistics, her 2.5 year fight resulted in her getting to meet her 2 grandsons, and her fight is what as given me the drive to raise awareness and more importantly raise funds for Womens Gynaecological Cancer Research. Losing my mum at... such a vulnerable time in my life has been the hardest thing I have ever had to endure. Watching her fight such a battle with gracefulness and limitless strength was inspiring. However, having to witness how the cancer affected her beautiful body and lifestyle is heart wrenching and something that will be impossible to forget. We kindly ask that we be notified and your appointment rescheduled if any of the following applies to you: * been overseas in the last 14 days, * been unwell and/or experiencing any cold/flu-like symptoms (fever, coughing, shortness of breath, fatigue, sore throat, etc), * been in contact with anyone suspected of having Coronavirus and/or has had a confirmed case of Coronavirus. We would like to take this opportunity to let our clients know that as per our normal cleaning regime, we are thoroughly cleaning each station between clients, washing all towels and capes after individual use and our tools will also be appropriately sanitised. As we are a home salon, it is vital our clients make use of the available hand sanitiser upon arrival and departure to ensure the safety of my babies and family. 06.01.2022 Ahhhh! How incredible is our bride, Sian?! Actual perfection

06.01.2022 What is your fave go-to product for creating texture? Mine is #doneanddusted by @nakhair. It is my saviour. I freaking love this product and its perfect for that effortless-I-woke-up-like-this-look. I dont think there has been a client that has sat down in my chair and NOT asked what is this magic powder? #unicorn... It is fair to say that I use it with almost every single hairstyle because it is so versatile You just want a bit of volume at your roots? Just lightly sprinkle some on and massage through. You want some volume through-out your waves? Just add a little more through your midlengths and tousle through. You wanna look like a boho goddess? Do ALL of the above and then some You want a product to help hold your braid in place? Go-on and sprinkle a little more throughout the braid because pulling and texturising the braid. **Please note; when I say sprinkle, I quite literally mean sprinkle. If you go a little overboard, the becomes a point of no return until you shampoo and condition your hair. So please, for the sake of your future self, sprinkle, sprinkle, sprinkle For this look I softly curled the hair using @cloudninec9 and I then prepped the hair using @nakhair #texturepowder at the roots and then through the mid-lengths and ends I then created the upstyle and SPRINKLED MORE through the softer, twisted sections to help add some more grit to the hair itself. I find this especially helpful when creating super soft, romantic hairstyles because its reduces the chances of the hairstyle slipping or falling out within hours.

03.01.2022 How many of your loved ones have fought #Cancer? Did you know that EVERYDAY in Australia 15 women are diagnosed with a Gynaecological Cancer and 4 women die. THAT an estimated 6,454 women will be diagnosed with Gynaecological Cancer in 2019.... THAT an estimated 2,040 women will die from Gynaecological Cancer in 2019. THAT there were 19,871 women living with Gynaecological Cancer at the end of 2013. (that were diagnosed in the 5 year period of 2010 - 2014). and THAT in 2019, it is estimated that the risk of a female dying from gynaecological cancer by her 85th birthday will be 1 in 59. Those stats are ridiculous and we NEED to RAISE AWARENESS because this disease will and PROBABLY already has affected each and every one of you that is reading this. Because DID YOU KNOW that 1 in 2 Australian men and women will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85 and that cancer is a leading cause of death in Australia - almost 50,000 deaths from cancer are estimated for 2019. 03.01.2022 In light of the last few weeks, I thought I'd share some HOT TIPS about some HOT TOPICS when scheduling your wedding day to hopefully ensure your special day runs just that little bit more smoother! Ensure you are always in contact with ALL of your vendors especially during the 4-6 weeks leading up to your wedding day. THIS IS A MUST! Please, please, please allow for travel time to your venue when you are planning out your day. ... And allow for atleast 1 hour per person for hair and 1 hour per person for makeup. There are some superstars out there that may only be 45 minutes per person... but wouldn't you rather have extra time up your sleeve? The last hour will literally fly by in the blink of an eye, so please, for the love of your own sanity, allow atleast 1hr-2hrs between finishing hair and makeup and leaving for your ceremony! You can thank me later! Hope these little nuggets help to avoid any more un-needed stress on any beautiful brides wedding day! 03.01.2022 HAPPY NEW YEAR What a wonderful time of year it is when you actually get to sit down and map out the year to come; your big goals, your little goals, your dreams and your mission. It is so cleansing! I fucking love planning life. I find it hard to sit back and just let things come to me.. because reality is you got make your own dreams happen.... I am super excited for 2020, because for the first time in nearly 3 years I feel like I have a little bit more sleep up my sleeve to actually focus on my #businessbaby because letsbehonest.. sleep is everything and if you arent getting it, how the fuck do humans even handle the basics in life......? They dont. Its called survival mode and that was the definition of me the last 3 years. So long story short, to all the new mummas out there, there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.. I promise Who else has survived their way through the sleep deprivation and came out the other end? How good does it feel when you can actually tick boxes that arent the standard bum-wiping-nappy-changing-baby-feeding-baby-sleeping daily grind? All I can is thank-fuck they are so bloody cute, because after a shit day - it only takes their little smile, their little cheeky laugh or their little loved character to completely erase the torment they just put you through! #motherhood #goodtimes So not entirely sure how this post ended up about babies #mumlife It was intended to be about #newyearsresolutions and the exciting things I have in store for my business this year.. 03.01.2022 How perfect are these waves? I loved creating these waves and my gorgeous client's hair certainly defied the odd's! She has all one length hair which as most #hairstylists know it can be challenging to achieve such bounce without layering... BUT WE DID IT!... I prepped the hair with @nakhair #heatbeat then used horizontal sections that were 1.5cm in width and curled using my 16mm @silverbullethair #curlingwand then applied Nak's #shinespray and brushed out with the one and only @moroccanoil #mediumholdhairspray Want these waves for your next event? 03.01.2022 Have you lost someone you love to #Cancer? In August 2018, my beautiful mum took her final breathes after what was an incredibly strong battle with Stage IV Endometrial Cancer. Her 2.5 year fight defied the statistics, her 2.5 year fight resulted in her getting to meet her 2 grandsons, and her fight is what as given me the drive to raise awareness and more importantly raise funds for Womens Gynaecological Cancer Research. Losing my m...um at such a vulnerable time in my life has been the hardest thing I have ever had to endure. Watching her fight such a battle with gracefulness and limitless strength was inspiring. However, having to witness how the cancer affected her beautiful body and lifestyle is heart wrenching and something that will be impossible to forget. 01.01.2022 Here is a HOT TIP When searching for a wedding hairstylist, there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, you must ensure that you do your research! This means casually stalking Insta, Facebook and Google for hairstylists and their reviews, testimonials and previous work. A great little tip is to find who has previously worked with your chosen photographer, florist, makeup artist, etc ... Secondly, write down a list of what is important to you from your hairstylist. What is your priority? the quality and skillset of your hairstylist or does it come down to what fits in with your wedding budget? And finally, location! Location is a huge factor! I am sure we all wish that we could all magically teleport ourselves down to the South West for minimal or next-to-no costs, but unfortunately - this isnt possible, so keep the location in mind when researching as there will be travel fees incurred for such distances.
