25.01.2022 Wednesday Wisdom! Wedding Planner vs Coordinator vs Stylist: What's the difference? Part 3 - Wedding Stylist! A wedding designer's role is purely aesthetic and doesn't include things like contract negotiations or attending appointments alongside the couple. They help with the decisions that will give your event a cohesive, stylish and sophisticated look. The ability to design an event and create an atmosphere is a unique and rare talent. It's more than choosing linens and ch...airs. A designer has an artistic eye that allows them to conceptualize the whole event and truly transform a space. Wedding stylists put in up to 40 hours bringing your event to life and their duties may include but are not limited to: Creating the wedding's design concept. Provides colour palette guidance. Oversees the decor budget and vendors (florist, rentals, lighting and stationery). Sources special props and equipment. Attends a site visit to visualize where you want everything to go, devise a layout, and identify potential problems. Creates detailed floor plans. Ensures decor elements are in place on-site at the wedding. You might hire a Wedding Designer if the decor is the most important element of the wedding for you, you're confident in your organizational and logistical skills, but your creative skills are lacking or you're trying to pull off a very specific theme, you have a million wedding style ideas that you can't narrow down or you don’t want to invest your limited time on the day of the event into DIY decorating. Note: stylists are available in store to help with your day! See more

25.01.2022 Finally some photos from the St Luke's Bundaberg prom!!! iPhone photos unedited as you can probably tell but spectacular all the same!!! Many thanks to Kirstine and prom committee students for providing us an awesome colour scheme and trusting us to run with it! It was months and months of planning and creating for this event! Covid may have put a dent in the guest list but we’re glad prom could go ahead for the most part (including dancing ) and you had a great night! Special thanks to Julie's Enchanted Florist for the hard work bringing our trendy concept to life and making the arrangements on top of the plinths you see here! We hope to be able to do it all over again next year!

24.01.2022 Wednesday Wisdom! From bride Amy: "Spend the most on photos. It’s the only element of your wedding day that will jog your memory, as you get further away from it. I wish I’d worried less about whether there was a gluten free dessert option and worried more about making sure I had a picture for every moment".

23.01.2022 Wednesday Wisdom! Don't live and die by wedding trends. You don’t have to have get married under a pastel floral arch because it's in. Also, no one will die if you serve drinks out of mason jars because you like them. Let your own style dictate your wedding style! But if the trends inspire you, that's fine too!

23.01.2022 Wednesday Wisdom! From Bride Alexandra: Seating charts are like extra hard cryptic crosswords, but with emotions. You can’t please everyone, so do what works for you. My best advice is to sit the oldies closer to the dance floor. Everyone else will abandon their tables as soon as the music starts. Make sure they are close so they can watch and still be part of it, and not left all the way at the other end.

22.01.2022 We'll be closed today while we set up for Richard & Danielle's Wedding being held tomorrow! We apologise for any inconvenience.

22.01.2022 Trending Tuesday! Wallpaper! Another way to go bold with your wedding decor is by using wallpaper to create a backdrop or accent wall. What we love most about this trend is that it's extremely versatile, since you can find wallpaper in nearly any color or pattern imaginable, and it's actually easy to recreate (especially if you use a peel and stick wallpaper). A few places to try this 2020 wedding decor trend: for your ceremony backdrop, for your escort card display, behind a sweetheart table, behind the bar at your reception, or at your dessert table.

22.01.2022 Throwback Thank You Thursday! Of all of the venues in town it's Brothers Sports Club Bundaberg who've had to endure a huge percentage of our creativity! Many, many thanks to Michael and his team for letting us run with it, whatever "it" may be! It's always such smooth sailing when we team up and we can't wait to be there once again crushing the events post Covid!

21.01.2022 Throwback Thank You Thursday! You can hardly call it "working" when you're at a location like Platypus Park Riverside Retreat! Right on the river, such gorgeous scenery to begin with but made even more picturesque with the time and effort put in to continually manicuring everything! Col and Julie have such taste with their new project additions and always treat us like old friends! It's absolutely worth the short drive if you're considering this venue for your event.

21.01.2022 Throwback Thank You Thursday! Rachel and Dan at Rowers on the River Restaurant and Function Centre have to be two of the most accommodating people we know and we thank them for always having our back! These guys do a lot of DIY themselves for their clients, borrowing equipment and piecing it all together but if the occasion calls for it they'll also let us come in and dominate their venue! I think the brother sister duo secretly don't mind it when this happens and they get a little break! These guys have the best view in town and amazing food. We love working with them and if you get the opportunity you will too!

21.01.2022 TGIF! Ute vs Trailer?

20.01.2022 Last month we rolled out the reddest of red carpets to begin our 2020 PROM events! Thanks to covid Bundaberg State High School hosted Prom from the school grounds this year. Students pulled up in their various rad vehicles to strut the red carpet for Matt and Rachel at Right Image Photography on their way to a fairylight marquee via the Alowishus Delicious gelato cart of course! Because... gelato! The Black, White and Silver colour concept never fails and students had a blast in this cocktail setting. I think it's great that these students in particular have this fun memory of school to look back on after such a trying year for them. We already can't wait to start planning for next year!

19.01.2022 TGIF! What's your wedding go to?

18.01.2022 We’re still very busy going straight from prom week into Christmas display week so the photo upload of our last prom will come soon! In the meantime here’s a quick video until we post the photos! Congratulations Kepnock State High School graduates! Decorating and catering for you guys was a dream and we’re glad you had a great time and utilised all of the photo opportunities we built!

17.01.2022 Throwback Thank You Thursday! There's no easier place to work than In The Grove! Offering a full service means the fiddly tasks are already done before we arrive to cater. We literally just have to cook the food, serve and head home! Sometimes we can even make it home in time for the Saturday night movie with a lot of the clean up being done by them! We thank Ian, Sandy and team for their consistency, reliability and professionalism. It really is a battle in the office determining who is going to do your function that week vs another!

17.01.2022 What to do when it's a slow day in the office? Just casually get a handle on Prom Week which is coming very quickly! We can't wait to piece this glamorous one together! Side note: you'll note that I'm no florist but as is always the case with these things it looks heaps better in person I promise!

17.01.2022 Wednesday Wisdom! From bride Amie: Know your audience and location. We mistakenly organised wine and beer for our wedding like we would at home. But the combination of a tropical location with the hot weather meant guests mostly wanted cocktails and nearly no wine was consumed (not to mention a late-night dash by our planner to organise more spirits when we ran out!)

16.01.2022 Moodboard Monday! Greenery! Still awesome!

14.01.2022 A word from the mother of the bride of one of the 9 weddings we were a part of on the long weekend! Donna came to us only a month prior to the wedding having already booked us for catering to urgently arrange a marquee and styling when it turned out that their original venue did not have a covid safe plan. We were happy to help! "Thank you so very much for helping us with our daughter's wedding today. I can’t thank you enough for answering our call for help to set up the marq...uee and decorations at such short notice because our original venue was not Covid safe. Your company did such a lovely job, everything went well and it looked beautiful. Your catering staff were excellent, friendly, polite and the food was delicious. All I can say is I give your company a 10 out of 10. I have also told people about your company and recommended you to them if they needed someone to do any events, they might need help with. Kind Regards, Donna. Not a bad setup with 4 weeks notice hey! See more

14.01.2022 Our flower man pops in regularly and without warning to show us samples of all the latest items. Fantastic you might say... issue being that we always love all of the flowers and then we order all of the flowers with no total tally or space to put them (that’s a future issue) . Sooooo guess who has a mega flower shipment arriving soon?

14.01.2022 TGIF! What will your wedding feels be like?

14.01.2022 Trending Tuesday! Colour Clashing Blooms! Right now, we're in awe of our mega-talented friends in the floral industry who are pushing the boundaries with their bold and avant-garde wedding ideas. Clashing colours and rad rainbow vibes are filling our feeds and we're in love!

13.01.2022 We’ll be closed today while we setup for Bundaberg State High School’s Prom tonight! We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

13.01.2022 Wednesday Wisdom! Wedding Planner vs Coordinator vs Stylist: What's the difference? Part 2 - Wedding Coordinator! A wedding coordinator is logistically focused, but on a shorter timeline than a planner. They usually begin helping you prepare a month before the wedding and function as the point person on the wedding day. They will confirm vendor contracts and create a day-of timeline, as well as make sure things like payments and guest counts are in order, but won't be involv...ed in the earlier planning phases or keeping track of your budget. Their job is to coordinate everything involved on the day of the event, from load-in and load-out to ensuring that everyone is on schedule. Coordinators make sure everything you've done up until they take over is in good shape and in order, nothing is forgotten, and you're free to enjoy your wedding day. Wedding Coordinators put in approximately 25 hours for your day and duties include but are not limited to: Meets with you four to eight weeks before the wedding to get a handle on what you've planned thus far. Checks in with your vendors to review the signed contracts and confirm logistics. Creates detailed timelines and floor plans. Completes a final walk-through of the ceremony and reception sites. Addresses any overlooked details (such as forgetting to include a knife on the cake table). Manages the rehearsal. Oversees everything on the wedding day. You might hire a Wedding Coordinator if you want to play an active role in planning your wedding but would like someone to take care of the last-minute details and make sure you haven't missed anything, you're extremely organized and detail-oriented or you don't have the budget for a full-service wedding planner. Note: Wedding Coordinator Service available in store if required. See more

13.01.2022 Moodboard Monday! It really doesn't get any more timeless than white!

12.01.2022 On the 29th August we were thrilled to be able to help Nicchia and Michael with their wedding ceremony at St John's Lutheran Church and reception at Rowers on the River Restaurant and Function Centre (always a pleasure Dan and Rachel - thanks for these snaps!)! From the very first inquiry chat on the phone with Nicchia it was an absolute dream to work with her to bring her wedding day wishes to life. We really only spent half an hour with her getting a vibe for what she was ...after and the rest of the time chatting like the best of friends! There was nothing difficult about it or obscure, just a casual laid back time with family and friends with no stress whatsoever! We're not sure what to be more excited for... the photos from Morgan Parremore Photography or the photos from the Mini Me (N & M's son that acquired a camera that day) that Morgan found herself with on the day! See more

12.01.2022 Moodboard Monday! Beachside Boho!

12.01.2022 Trending Tuesday! Translucent details! Acrylic is still going strong and will continue to be a major wedding decor trend throughout 2020. Expect to see this translucent material used for cake stands, centerpieces, invitations, signage, creative place cards, charger plates, and even rental furniture. The latest way to embrace this trend? Use acrylic boxes to showcase things like flowers, candles, or even fresh citrus fruits.

12.01.2022 Just adding to Trending Tuesday! According to my email inbox Low boho themed timber tables are in high demand! As a result we're happy to notify you that our very popular timber tables are now multipurpose and can be used as low tables for your event. Many thanks to Cassie from 3b'z Fitness for the photos and inspiring this idea as she helped plan an awesome Bridal Shower for her sister Jacinta over the weekend. It looks like everyone had a fantastic time!

11.01.2022 Moodboard Monday! Dreaming of a Peaches and Cream Wedding! Side note: happens to be my favourite chupa chup flavour!

11.01.2022 Trending Tuesday! Vase & jar signage ! The calligraphy sign trend has come a long way in recent memoryit started with chalkboards, then mirrors and acrylic signage, and now we're predicting that giant glass jars will be the "it" detail for 2020. Use one oversized jar to display your favorite romantic quote, or have your wedding calligrapher write guests' names on vessels in various sizes, shapes, and colors as an alternative seating chart. Clear glass vases are the most popular take on this trend so far, but you could also use terracotta pots or ceramic jugs.

10.01.2022 Trending Tuesday! Disco balls! Tell your guests to wear their dancing shoes, because this throwback detail will inspire them to let loose and boogie. Disco balls are on track to be one of the biggest wedding decor trends, but not in the way that you'd first expect. Instead of having a lone disco ball hanging above the dance floor, try adding disco balls to a hanging floral arrangement, grouping miniature disco balls together for your centerpieces, or using them instead of paper escort or place cards.

09.01.2022 This is an image from the St Luke's Bundaberg Prom by the ever so talented Cassandra Kirk Photography! The phrase "such attention to detail" is always up there with the best of the best of comments we hear as people walk on by unaware that we're actively gauging public reaction as we fade into the backgrounds! Thanks Cass for capturing the essence of this prom for us!

09.01.2022 TGIF! Wedding feels be like?

09.01.2022 Throwback Thank You Thursday! Many thanks to Trudy at the Bundy Services Club for always being around in case we need something! Like a ladder hold! Although there's a lift we always try to get our apple watch "flights climbed" up while we can when we're working here! Helps us stay small enough to fit behind our slender backdrops when we need to!

09.01.2022 Hi there! Like all of the wedding vendors we've spoken to recently we've encountered many couples who believe that they need to reduce their guest list to 30 people which is not necessarily the case. Below is the link to the government website that shows you can in fact have up to 100 guests with the proviso that you're using vendors that have a Covid Safe Plan and you've engaged someone to manage the event that is operating under said plan. GUESS WHAT? THAT'S TOTALLY US!!! ...I've included the wording used here. The link also answers many other Covid questions you might be interested in. https://www.qld.gov.au//public-health/movements-gatherings How many people can attend my wedding? A maximum of up to 100 people can attend wedding ceremonies that are conducted under a COVID Safe Plan regardless of the size of the venue. Social (or physical) distancing requirements still apply. Speak with the venue operators or your celebrant to determine the specific requirements of your wedding. Wedding receptions and ceremonies held at a person’s residence (for example a backyard wedding) may have more people attend - if a business is engaged to manage the event and is operating under an approved COVID Safe Plan. For example, a catering company or event manager is operating under the Weddings Industry COVID Safe Plan. Wedding services performed at a person’s residence in the restricted Local Government Areas can have a maximum of 10 people attend, including the couple, if there is no COVID Safe Plan in place. Only businesses can operate under a COVID Safe Plan as listed under the Restrictions on Businesses, Activities and Undertakings Direction, these are not available to individuals. Wedding services performed at a person’s residence that is not located in the restricted Local Government Areas can have a maximum of 30 people attend, if there is no COVID Safe Plan in place. A record of names and contact details of each guest must be kept for 56 days to assist in contact tracing if required. No exemptions will be granted for weddings. It is important if you are unwell, that you do not go to a wedding.

08.01.2022 Trending Tuesday! Disco Fever! New twists on metallics, disco balls, fringe, neon signage and holographic details, all things disco are making a comeback for weddings - with a '70s meets '80s edge!

08.01.2022 Trending Tuesday! Catchy phrases! Lately, it seems like everywhere we look, there's a wedding with a playful, sassy phrase featured somewhere in the decor, whether it's printed onto cocktail napkins, added to the invitation suite, or hung as a laser-cut sign on an accent wall. This spunky trend is only going to continue to grow in 2020, but the trick to making your phrase feel catchy (not cheesy) is to pick a saying, song lyric, or quote that holds personal meaning to you and your spousefor example, the sign in this photo says, "Hey good lookin', what ya got cookin'?" because the groom is a chef and everyones table number and name are printed on assorted cutting boards!

07.01.2022 Trending Tuesday! Abstract layered backdrops! From curtains of multi-colored fabrics to strips of paper and oversized, mis-matched rectangles, abstract layered backdrops are another 2020 wedding decor trend that is fairly easy to pull off, no matter your style. The purpose of this trend is to achieve a more fluid, abstract look that contrasts with the symmetrical floral arches, hoops, and triangular backdrops that have reigned supreme for the last couple of years.

07.01.2022 Last Saturday we were inspired as we worked frantically to set up lighting, furnishings, linens and catering items for an open air engagement luncheon followed by a lawn party for Rachel and Drew at their family plantation. Once we were done hanging out in the macadamia trees, Libby from Annabella Studios came through and gave the tables some amazing bright colour! You'll see her in these images opening up her roses as she goes. The photos just don't do it justice! It looked fantastic!

06.01.2022 Throwback Thank You Thursday! Although we haven't had an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful tranquil surrounds at HSG At The Gardens since the new owners took over (thanks covid), we are familiar with the venue and do look forward to helping with several upcoming booked events in the near future. Thanks Dion and team for allowing us into your venue to help our couples have their perfect day!

06.01.2022 TGIF! What's your wedding vibe?

05.01.2022 Trending Tuesday! The Roaring Twenties! Buckle up old sport, the roaring 20s are back! Weddings are travelling back in time to the decade of art deco details and glittery Gatsby-inspired nights!

05.01.2022 Moodboard Monday! Rose Gold!

03.01.2022 Moodboard Monday! Lavender is always a good idea!

03.01.2022 Moodboard Monday! Green and Gold! Yes indeed!

02.01.2022 Wednesday Wisdom! Wedding Planner vs Coordinator vs Stylist: What's the difference? Part 1 - Wedding Planner! Wedding planners are all about the masterminding, from vendor referrals and contract negotiation to day-of execution of your vision. Planners take the guesswork out of the process, making planning a wedding as seamless and smooth as possible while keeping track of your budget and handling the logistics. This is a skill that many can learn, but only the best planners ...have the years of experience and qualifications that set them above the rest. Wedding planners seem to have a stigma for being too expensive. We find this to be quite the opposite. A planner usually charges roughly 10% of what your overall wedding bill will cost which sounds like a major investment. Keep in mind though those planners do this job year round which means they’ve built a rapport with many, many vendors and are often the ones able to negotiate the best deals on your behalf because they book multiple jobs with these vendors throughout the year. In our opinion it will work itself out in the wash but you get the best deal being able to keep your free time and have a professional handle everything for you. A wedding planner puts in anywhere from 80-250 hours for your dream day and duties include but are not limited to: Providing vendor referrals and negotiating contracts; schedules and attending all vendor meetings. Creating timelines and floor plans. Determining and managing your budget. Attending site tours and menu tastings. Brainstorming style ideas and coordinating design details. Managing the rehearsal. Overseeing everything on the wedding day (making sure everyone adheres to the timeline, handling snafus, managing vendors, and executing your vision on-site). You might hire a planner if you want the least possible amount of wedding-related stress, have no free time to plan, have no clue where to start and are not very organised to begin with, are working with a short time frame, are throwing a destination wedding or a wedding weekend with multiple events or are hosting your wedding in an unusual space. Note: We have a qualified planner on staff ready to help with your day when you're ready! See more

02.01.2022 Trending Tuesday! Grid screens! These utilitarian-esque screens are taking on an entirely new (and gorgeous) look for 2020, as stlists are decorating them with flowers, escort cards, balloons and more. Use an oversized screen to create a focal point at your venue, or opt for smaller ones as unique table numbers or to display signage throughout your reception space.

01.01.2022 TGIF! Friday's got you feeling like?

01.01.2022 Throwback Thank You Thursday!!! Many thanks to Anne and the team at Bundaberg Surf Life Saving Club for always being so welcoming and keeping us hydrated while we work side by side at our events! We're particularly grateful for your awesome kitchen and fabulous dishwasher that we don't always get to have while we're on location! Such an amazing view, we love when we can get our fill of fresh sea air!

01.01.2022 When 1/3 of your flower order arrives ! Now... where to put everything??? #tetris

01.01.2022 Moodboard Monday! Just loving this Periwinkle and Pink Combination!
