18.01.2022 Well done Brisbane! We lead like champs and busted out of lockdown early. As of 12pm we all let out a big sigh of relief as our premiere lifted our lockdown and declared Easter good to go! The end of lockdown means for me, being able to provide face-to-face sessions in full capacity. Whilst options like Zoom are a fantastic back-up for me, there is nothing like being able to see a person's face and body language in order to effectively communicate, and build strategies spec...ific to their needs. This is especially important for my Deaf clients and my younger clients with diverse learning needs who are often accompanied by either an interpreter and/or Parents. I am able to build trust and understanding far easier by being completely present, front and center. Looking towards the long weekend, not only will I be able to better support my clients but also have the ability to take my children out to enjoy the beginning of school holidays, have a little me time away from home, and enjoy the company of friends and family. We have all been here before and we will all get through this. Be kind to yourself and utilise this time at home to do that one thing you have been putting off or that hobbie you have been wanting to start or simply that allowing yourself to put your feet up. Be kind to others and give support where support is needed. *said out loud as the toilet paper aisle once again clears out. Look to all the beautiful things in life and find gratitude in how they add value. Your health, your family and friends, this beautiful place we call home, the ability to work-from-home, the ability to be an essential worker and value-add into our communities, the ability to get a few extras days with the children, the ability to reset.
