23.01.2022 On Tuesday 8th of October, Ben & I welcomed little miss "Mickee Jane Geard" into our family. Weighing in at a hefty 9lbs 5oz and 56cm in length, her measurements clearly compliment her swimming genes. Big brother Harvey is loving our newest addition and has been the most gentle & caring toddler we could ask for.... so far.... Thank you for all your lovely messages, we are doing well as a family of four. Ben, Emily, Harvey & Mickee x

22.01.2022 Some clarification regarding the 1.5m rule in relation to swim participants. The advice from the Government hotline is that we may continue normal operations at this time.

21.01.2022 Hello Swimmers! There have been some promising signs that swimming pools will be allowed to reopen next week. Wooooo! We are currently working out what that means for us and what squads we can run going forward with the new health guidelines in place. Stay tuned & we will be in touch with some updates soon.

We have a lot of work to do behind the scenes to ensure it's safe for all our swimmers to return (and the water is warm!) 13.01.2022 Some helpful tips here to keep your swim fitness up if you have a pool at home!

13.01.2022 We know everyone has been eagerly waiting to hear if we are able to open the pool and we thank you for your patience. Sadly, it is uneconomical for us to open during Stage 1 of the roadmap due to such small numbers of swimmers permitted. The pool will therefore remain closed until at least 12 June 2020 when Stage 2 restrictions are released in more detail. We are monitoring the restrictions on a daily basis and will follow further advice from the government and Swimming Austr...alia in the weeks to come. The GOOD NEWS is we are planning some more group based fitness activities (for up to 10 people) while we are all still out of the water. More information next week!

Gates open at 1:30pm Warm-up from 2:00pm Racing starts: 2:30pm Short interval after skins BBQ when finished racing EVENTS Individual: Skins (knock out race) 50 free, fly, back and breast Points for top 5: 5 points (first), 4 points (second), 3 points (third), 2 points (fourth) and 1 point (fifth) Relays: Relay events for each stroke, medley and a novelty (6 in total): 4 x 25m Relay teams will be drawn randomly from a hat Relay points; 3 points (gold), 2 points (silver) and 1 point (bronze) Total points will be sum of individual, relay points plus swimmers age. WHO CAN COMPETE? All Element Swimming adult squad swimmers from Coorparoo & Marshall Road squads. Plus of course all our staff members! 06.01.2022 At this stage, our adult squad will continue to operate as normal. If a COVID-19 case is identified at either Coorparoo or Marshall Road State School we will most likely need to close for a period to allow Queensland Health to assess the situation. The health of our swimmers and their families remain our top priority. We will advise any further updates as soon as they come to hand.

03.01.2022 http:// UPDATE - CLOSURE // Following the updates on further restrictions for social interactions this evening, we will now be closing the pool at 8pm on Wednesday 25th March (tomorrow). This will be the last day for adult squad swimming until we are allowed to return. We want to thank everyone for their kind words of support so far, we will be back!

01.01.2022 \\ TEMPORARY CLOSURE \\ With the increasing concerns arising from the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to suspend our adult squad after the last session on the morning of Saturday 28th of March. Although outdoor pools have been excluded from the most recent closures, we will be doing our part to prevent unnecessary exposure.... We wish all our swimmers the best over this uncertain period & hope to be back up & running very soon.
