22.01.2022 Get on board the Speed bus before you miss out
21.01.2022 Couldn't wipe the smile off the Elephant Boots team's faces when Shelley, Vanessa and Walter visited Act/React's latest show at the Brisbane Powerhouse on the weekend. . Great to see the Act React Team has progressed from the car park 3 years ago. Their original interactive show was "Speed:The Movie, The Play" (do you remember the bus?). Now, in 2019, they're in the Turbine Platform with "Die Hard:The Movie, The Play". .... Just reward for Natalie, Greg and Dan and their hard working Team of professionals. This show ticks all the boxes and extends their run of success’s with original, cleverly scripted parodies of Cult Classics. See more
19.01.2022 Time to update your PR database, especially regional artists.
16.01.2022 "Genesis had lived a life on Brisbane stages before, but Elephant Boots were the key in helping us to take the work to that next level. . Their support allowed us to really hone in on the artistic aspects of the performance, something that honestly seemed impossible in previous productions, as it often does in independent work. . Stemming from that support and our ability to work on the work, Genesis has reached fresh audiences, garnered some brilliant reviews, and grown so... much as a production in its own right. . Connecting a collection of Brisbane’s most passionate up-and-coming theatre makers was such a liberating, inspiring process, and one that I really don’t think would have come about with the support, guidance, and generosity of experience that Elephant Boots so willingly gives." (William Hinz, Playwright). . GENESIS by William Hinz is available at Australian Plays. See more
16.01.2022 Thanks Theatre Haus. Act/React’s Die Hard, The Movie, The Play

14.01.2022 Walter’s favourite T-shirt is right on the Elephant Boots brand. . This cute little guy is our mascot because of a conversation that got Elephant Boots started back in 2016. . Walter and Shelley were attending the showcase of a graduating class of theatre performance students and realised that, even though they were all fresh and eager, the 'elephant in the room' was that many of them would struggle to build a career.... . Right then and there, it was decided to create an organisation that could use the experience, skills and finances of its founders to support, mentor and fund local creatives in their pursuit of a viable creative career. . Elephant Boots was born and has enjoyed wonderful collaborations with local creatives. . There are no funding rounds to wait for so, if you think working with us might be helpful to your career, jump onto our website and check out the who, what, where, when and how. . While your at it, what do you think we could name this little guy? See more
14.01.2022 Is the Australian arts industry about to die? . There's been a lot of passionate discussion about the recently announced changes to our Australian arts industry this week and EBP team members, Walter and Vanessa, had strong personal reactions to the news. . "Arts Cabinet Minister Paul Fletcher has stated that there will be no change to arts funding, worth $749M, this year", Walter highlighted. "Live Performance Australia, representing the $2.2bn staged arts and entertainmen...t sector, said the absence of the words arts or culture from the new department was an unfortunate oversight. Interestingly, the public sector was revamped in a similar way by Bob Hawke in 1987 and Arts still flourished." . With a focus on mentoring, Walter believes in the strength of our industry. "This industry has always been tough going but we're strong. Perhaps it's because, to thrive, artists must craft a career through perseverance, hard work and knock backs to truly understand what it takes to succeed in a world that is constantly changing.Governments come and go and change isn't necessarily something we can control. That's why we encourage our performers to focus on what they CAN control: to continually improve their craft to appeal to a growing cultural market in Australia, and develop a career that is financially independent." . "The thing the government needs to know is that they can not make the arts less visible", stated Vanessa eloquently. "It is a vital and profitable industry in this country. And to people starting out in this industry, young people pursuing goals or starting study, know that while the government appeared this week to devalue the arts, we continue in our pursuit to shine a light on the arts and encourage and assist, performers, writers, and artists to create their own opportunities and contribute to the dynamic and varied arts community and industry we have in this country."Go, Vanessa! . How would you encourage other Australian creatives to keep going? See more

13.01.2022 Keanu and Dennis know that in a time of crisis, it's important to check in. Today marks the start of April. It's only been a few weeks since we had to shut dow...n "Speed: The Movie, The Play" at the Brisbane Comedy Festival, but it feels like years ago! Time certainly warps in a global pandemic. We hope that all of our friends and supporters are staying safe, well, and indoors as much as possible. We'd love to know what you're getting up to at home - cleaning, crafting, cooking, educating? Maybe you're rewatching classics such as Speed, Titanic, Die Hard or Love Actually? Would followers here be interested in any content from Act/React during this time? We're brainstorming ideas that would work in the online world, so happy to hear any thoughts or ideas! Elephant Boots Productions | Images by Anderson | BRISBANE POWERHOUSE
12.01.2022 A lack of confidence in ourselves and our work is something that we all experience at various points in our creative careers. . "Am I any good?" "Is my project something audiences will pay to see?" "I don't know if I can do everything that it takes to get my project off the ground."... . No one said you were meant to do it alone. In fact, going it alone is a sure fire way to burnout. If you don't ask, you don't get. Ask for help. Ask for something you think is completely outrageous. Simply ask! . When we work with artists it can be simply to discuss the 'business' behind your creative career - and there IS a business to a successful creative career. . Perhaps you've got all the confidence in the world and just need some funding to make it happen. . We want to be the support you can rely on, helping you get that theatre project from the page to the stage. . Brisbane needs your creativity. . . . Photo credit: Jessica da Rosa See more

A wonderful show which was a masterclass in family entertainment. .
