25.01.2022 Beaten B Grade Game Sunday 16th September. If you wish to order photo/s, please message me here with the image/s attached to your message. Kind Regards... Les Alker

21.01.2022 I have had a few people ask me about why I cover polo as I do, and I feel question me as to how I do it. So... I will answer here as best I can. For me, a game of polo is a collection of separate stories.... That gun player who always looks good, well he/she will be most prominent on the ball, and the action. But the player that could barely ride a horse, but managed to get one hook on the gun player... Well they were on the field too.... So I try and tell the story through photos if I can. It may not be a great play, or a magic bit of horsemanship. It might just be an expression on a players face... Its all part of the game, even if it's a separate story within the game.... If you are looking for that cracking magic shot from a game of polo....well you you can find that here. But you will have to be patient finding it, because it is mixed in with all the other stories... Thank you

19.01.2022 This post is for Rosie Johnstone. I have had to step away from the polo photography due to the lack of income from it, and face reality. But I realised this weekend that I have a lot of my life invested in polo, or more importantly, the community that lives, breathes and guards the polo life. I went to Tamarang polo for the first time in a while this weekend, and absolutely enjoyed every moment. I didn't commentate, or take a photo, but I met people there from my past who we...re already friends earned, that I had forgotten I had. Two of them was Rosie and Gary Johnstone. This post and the next is for Rosie, who is an excellent artist, who wanted to know what I painted in my day. Great weekend Tamarang, and thank you for keeping up the good work......

15.01.2022 Finally, a couple of Team Photos for Mudgee. This is the last of the Polo photos from Wirragulla 2018. Just the social snaps and the night function to come. Not sure on the timeline of those as I also have other work to do over the next couple of days. Cheers all, Les Alker

05.01.2022 First C Grade Round Robbin Games from Sunday 16th September. Started to get a little dusty, which at times made it hard to focus... It is what it is. As always, if you want to order just message me here with a copy of the photo attached. Kind Regards... Les Alker

04.01.2022 This sequence is actually part of the last game, the B Grade final. But it is one of those separate stories I was talking about, so Better it has a post all of it's own. This is Jack Grimes just giving a demo of his abilities. There were plenty of witnesses to what happened here. From the time he picked up the ball in the first photo, to the time he got a bit of distance from his last hit, the ball never actually touched the ground......

04.01.2022 This is the Hall of Seasons Series.

03.01.2022 Hi Again Folks. Here are the social snaps from the 2018 Wirragulla Polo Tournament, 15-16th September. The crowd as usual was a good one, and had an excellent time.

01.01.2022 The snaps from the night show. (Including the obligatory food snaps, which for some reason beyond me are quite the rage these days). i was having troubles with flash and light sensor, so some not up to scratch, but , well..... you get a feeling for the night I hope. It is what it is..... This is the last post from Wirragulla 2018. I covered this tournament last year and loved doing it, and I enjoyed it just as much this year. The troops on the ground here go to a tremendous amount of effort to put on this tournament, and the success and atmosphere of the event is to their enduring credit. Just one more thing. I would like to thank all the people who took the time to comment favorably on my work. Whilst I love doing it, and would continue to do it regardless, its nice to be appreciated, so thank you...
