25.01.2022 So with the prospect of working from home for us all now inevitable, the big Telcos have just announced that they are all offering additional data (Telstra home - free data usage). Some considerations for us all to be looking into so we are prepared. What do you need to set up your office at home.. - If bring a lap top home - look at getting a separate monitor to plug it into and mouse. - Online conferencing - look at skype, zoom and other alternatives for meetings online an...d virtual catch ups - If working from a Ipad look at getting a separate keyboard. - Printer set up - Ensure your workplace is set up and comfortable and look at setting boundaries with kids around this is where you are working from - If your work is hands on and you dont think there will be an option to work remotely or from home, be proactively and start to think of aspects of your role that you could do for the company from home. Ie: Tender writing, overhaul operation manual writing, put together training packages, create templates. - Try and keep to a daily work routine for yourself and kids (schooling) Or if you can’t do your work from home - go to Bunnings and stock up in gear you need for around the house DIY projects! 23.01.2022 Att: Business Owners The Small Business Adaption Grant program was announced today to support small businesses which were subject to closure or highly impacted by the COVID-19 shutdown restrictions announced by the Queensland Government to adapt and sustain their operations, and build resilience. This grant program will allow Queensland small and micro businesses to apply for up to $10,000 which can be used towards the following: financial, legal or other professional ...advice to support business sustainability and diversification strategic planning, financial counselling or business coaching aligned to business development and diversification building the business through marketing and communications activities, for example, content development (web pages, mobile apps, visual and audio media etc.) digital/technological strategy development digital training or re-training to adapt to new business models capital costs associated with meeting COVID-19 safe requirements specialised digital equipment or business specific software to move business operations online (e.g. logistics program for online ordering) meeting business costs, including utilities, rent.
