21.01.2022 MYTH OR FACT Writing your goals down is an important part of the goal-setting setting process. . ... . . FACT ! It’s tempting to believe that simply thinking about your goal (keeping it in mind) is effective. And while it’s definitely helpful to THINK about your goal, actually writing it down takes it to the next level. According to self development expert and author Brian Tracy, most of us have about 1,500 thoughts a minute (!!!!). Most of those thoughts overlap, plus they are jumbled, vague, and unfocused. Writing your goals helps give you clarity and motivation to see them through. Rereading and clarifying your goals over time also gives them more power! 14.01.2022 PLEASE READ - Just got this lovely message from a client that participated in my 28 Day Lockdown Challenge. "I have just completed a 28 day challenge with Sheree and I have to say... it was awesome! I knew I had to do something about my increasing waist line & general health so I started cold turkey on day 1.. no sugar, coffee, carbs or alcohol. The first 2-3 days you could say were hard, but they were still doable and passed fairly quickly.... From then on it was great food, lots of food in fact & I rarely felt hungry. But if I did there were healthy options for a snack in the meal plan. With some cheat meals included I never felt deprived of the things I enjoy (just had them in moderation) With the support of Sheree, the Facebook group and other clients doing the challenge it was easy to stay on track. Like midnight!! (That’s late these days) Of course I didn’t want to wake up at 6.30am. But I did and was done by 7.30am. It is so amazing how powerful exercise is in putting you in a good mood. 09.01.2022 Every day no matter what I have to exercise. It is like oxygen to me. It never use to be and sure sometimes when the alarm goes off and its dark outside....a few swear words run threw my mind.... But without it, I am lost. I am tired. I am grumpy. I’ve been exercising since before I was 20 , and it’s turned into one of my non-negotiables. But some days life is out of control busy....DOESN'T MATTER. I wake up even earlier to make sure it is done. A positive byproduct of this, is if you have kids, they learn from seeing this behaviour and we all want our children to live a healthy life. Habits can seem like such small things, but they add up to something BIG. A client just wrote to me saying this:- "Sheree has often mentioned about ours kids forming good health habits/behaviours from seeing what we do. Our miss 6 is a sweet tooth she’d prefer a sweet treat over a piece of fruit for eg and no we don’t give in.I cooked quinoa the other day. I got some queries about what it was, offered some to her and now it’s her favourite food!" CREATING HEALTHY HABITS IN KIDS!!!! What’s one of YOUR healthy habits? 08.01.2022 Do not be fooled by these smiles. My girls do not like having their photo taken and they definitely do not like being put on my news feed. Heehee...... too bad I say. Some of my community members might not know who is behind the women in the camera. These are my loved ones. ... My man, whom we achieved 20 years married the other day. I say achieved as we haven’t yet celebrated it. I mean dressed up, drank fancy champagne and pretended we were new lovers hahaha. He was away for our anniversary and this is probably as good as it’s going to get in celebrating. With these crazy kids!! They have swagger these kids. They play loud music and sing just as loud in the shower. They listen to all the old music we use to dance to in the nightclubs. (What’s with that) They aren’t so little anymore. Number one and two are pretty much the same height as me and can wear my clothes. When did they get so big. What happened to the little girls I had?? We argue and we laugh, we frustrate each other but we are also good mates. I think we are all very similar hence why we can butt heads!! I wouldn’t change them for anything. When they were little I thought that life was tough....... Now that they are older..... it’s still kindof the same but not as demanding. They come home from school and roll their eyes at me....... what’s wrong? I say. Your story for today is so embarrassing!! I’m sure their friends think your mum is weird!! 08.01.2022 *MY MUST HAVE* If you ever see me working out, chances are you’ll notice I always have my WATCH or some device tracking me. In fact, if I don’t have it, I feel like I haven't done the activity: like no one will believe me, the workout didn't happen if you can't prove it , etc. When I track my workouts/activities I upload it to an app called "Strava" or "Garmin Connect" this holds me accountable. ... The funniest thing about exercising and knowing you have to tell the world what you have done, is the whole time I am exercising I am thinking about what title am I going to name the activity......or the whole day I am trying to close the rings on my activity tracker and trying to get the most steps in to beat the day before. Surprisingly it is a good distraction and very motivating. Perhaps I should have cleaned the screen though before posting a photo...Oh well "mums" world!!!! Do you have an item or something you have to use every time you workout???

If you’re trying to create a habit (like working out, eating a healthier diet, etc.), here’s how Habit Reflection works. First: Pick a situation from the past where you had success in changing a habit or behavior. Example: maybe when you were in school, you decided to bring up your grades. Or at work, you went for a new job or promotion. Second: Write down what you learned from that past situation. How did you do it? Were there any tactics or motivations that helped drive you forward? What specifics can you remember. Lasty: Create a plan that applies your past lessons to your new habit or goal. Following that process helped push study participants an average of 0.7 more times a week than other techniques. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but it’s actually a 140% improvement over the second-most-effective technique. Plus, the people in the study reported more satisfaction with the process than other groups! It’s having the BELIEF that you are capable of learning new skills, achieving great goals, developing new habits, or doing whatever you set your mind to.... Here are just a few steps you can take to build your mindset: 1. Surround yourself with people who support and empower you to be your best self. Read self development books, listen to podcasts, and seek out mentors who inspire you. 2. Watch your words and inner dialogue. Replace negative thoughts and words with positive ones. This makes a huge difference. 3. Know that perfect doesn’t exist. Find ways to enjoy the journey of reaching your goals instead of chasing perfection. It’s all about who you BECOME in the process. 4. Follow your own path. Focus on your strengths (versus any perceived weaknesses) and use them to power you forward. In the long run, consistent effort will get you a LOT farther than natural talent! 05.01.2022 Children are a blessing, but they are also relentless and exhausting. It's easy to feel lost, and out of control and feel like everyday is just a repeat of the day before as you slowly get more and more tired. As a result of being tired you will find yourself fueling your body with carbs, and sugars to try and stay awake which then will make your brain get foggier and foggier.... THIS IS A SIGN - YOU NEED SOME TIME OUT Take a moment for yourself. Don't be afraid to ask for it. Don't be stubborn and say you don't.....we have all said that. If you don't have a partner that can help then reach out to friends. Share the load of the kids and look after each others once a week for an hour or so, so you can go and sleep, get a manicure, walk along the beach and just get time to breathe. It is so important for a mother, to be a good mother to have time away from child. You will come back a more patient, loving mother and your child will also be more calm and settled. If you are feeling totally overwhelmed, exhausted and just need a little help, shout out. We will happily direct you or offer you some advice. But don't think you are alone. There are so many of us that all felt that way also.....and we are still here and are kids are now all grown up. You have got this. Take time out - you deserve it. xx
