02.01.2022 Hi All, Hoping you all got through this terrible weather and things are looking better for you. We have had customers with a lot of concerns about lost data/files.... Please follow the below: Below are our tips for anyone dealing with flood damaged devices. Never assume that data is unrecoverable, no matter what it has been through; Send the storage media to a professional to Elevate to evaluate ASAP; Do not shake or disassemble any hard drive or server; Never attempt to dry water-damaged media by opening it or exposing it to heat - such as that from a hair-dryer; Do not attempt to freeze-dry media; Do not attempt to operate visibly damaged devices (the WORST thing to do is wait for the media to dry out and then attempt to operate it on your own); Do not clean the media yourself. Do not use common software utility programs on broken or water-damaged devices. We will offer free evaluation of hard drives to anyone who has suffered water damage in this cyclone. If it needs to be sent away to a professional data recovery centre, they have generously offered 30% off to all clients affected by this.
