25.01.2022 Around the Grounds A strong performance from youngster Liam Scott which included a match saving 40* held off Nathan Ellis and the Tasmanians in Round 2 of the Sheffield Shield, while Aaron Hardie and Liam Guthrie played out a draw for WA against NSW. The WBBL kicked off yesterday and it was two debut wins for Nicola Hancock and Maddie Penna in new colours (Heat and Strikers), unfortunately Belinda Vakarewa and Hobart went down to Maddie's Strikers, Lauren Smith and Courtn...ey Webb were in line to play for the Thunder and Renegades but both games were abandoned due to the rain. #TeamESA

Belinda Vakarewa continued her good form with the ball for NSW. Courtney Webb looks to have settled at number 4 for SA, Aaron Hardie and Liam Guthrie worked hard for WA against SA and Georgia Voll has guided QLD to early wins. The WNCL is underway and Nicola Hancock and Maddie Penna have impressed for ACT, Belinda Vakarewa has been in form with the new ball for Tasmania and Courtney hit her maiden for 50 for South Australia. At Grade level, Harry Wood hit 100 while brother also hit 50 fro Ipswich..., Iain Carlisle took 4/60 for North Hobart, Dylan Brasher hit 57 for Footscray, Hadley took 3/54 for Manly and then backed up with 5/39 in the one day quarter final on Sunday. Connor Sully continued his good start to the year belting 48 off 20 balls for Northern Districts, while Hugo Burdon made 69 for Gold Coast. TAS Weather washed out the majority of games midway through but Nathan Ellis had 2 wickets inside his first 4 balls, finishing with 3/10. Jarrod Freeman showed his class, taking 3/21 from his 7 overs. North Hobart's Alex Pyecroft tore apart Greater Northern with 4/19 in his opening spell. 15.01.2022 Around the Grounds Shield The opening games of the Shield have wrapped up and it was a brilliant debut from our WA quick Lance Morris, who bowled with 'serious heat' as the commentators regularly mentioned. Liam Scott showed determination and fight with the bat for SA and received plenty of plaudits for his efforts in a losing side. For Tasmania, rising star Nathan Ellis took 3 wickets for the Tigers and almost held off the Bulls making a gutsy 31 in the final hours of pl...ay. Aaron Hardie, Liam Guthrie didn't feature for WA, while Liam Hatcher's NSW have arrived in Adelaide. Club Lane Berry struck 41 for Bayswater, Brad Hope hit 40 for Claremont continuing his good start to the season. Brock Larance starred for Campbelltown, taking 5/67. Young Will Salzmann also played well for the Ghosts and Ryan Hadley struck twice early for Manly in his return to competitive cricket, Peter and Max Hatzoglou both impressed in a SACA second XI trial game, there first since arriving from Victoria. #TEAMESA

A re-call for Jarrod 'Froggy' Freeman to the Tasmanian Shield side saw the Frog contribute with both bat and ball (24, 38 and 2/30) and Nathan Ellis finished the game with 4 wickets.... Liam Hatcher bowled with aggression as NSW defeated the Vics in the Marsh Cup, Hatch had 2/60 from his 10. At WNCL level Belinda Vakarewa has been on fire for the Tigers,2/27 and 2/22 against WA in the back-to-back games. Courtney Webb hit her second 50 of the tournament as the Scorpions defeated Queensland, Lauren Smith, Maddie Penna and Nicola Hancock have all featured for NSW and ACT. Mitch Owen is making his debut in the Marsh Cup for the Tigers today, while Liam Scott is in the shield squad for SA and Peter Hatzoglou could make his debut for SA in the Marsh Cup. At Grade level, Nick Bertus hit 78* on his return to Parramatta after being with the Sixers for the BBL campaign, Tom Whitney took 4/38 for Western Suburbs on debut, Liam Scott starred for Glenelg taking 6/19, Keegan Oates hit 57 for Lindisfarne and Brad Hope got 67 for Claremont.

09.01.2022 Around the Grounds A huge weekend of cricket highlighted by Lance Morris, taking his maiden 5 wicket haul for WA against Tasmania, with Aaron Hardie also chipping in with handy runs and a couple of wickets, while for Tassie, Nathan Ellis continues to take wickets, with 4 in the first and 2 so far in the second, along with a handy 41. Liam Scott is in Action for SA against the vics and Liam Hatcher is again 12th man for NSW as they take on QLD.... The WBBL has had a frustrating start due to the weather but Lauren Smith has started extremely well with the ball for the Thunder, as has Nicola Hancock for the Heat, Courtney Webb top scored for the Renegades while Maddie Penna and Belinda Vakarewa have also been solid for the Strikers and Hurricanes respectively. At Club land, Jack Wood showed his quality with the ball for Ipswich Logan Hornets, taking 5/65 against South Brisbane District Cricket Club, which featured Aryan Jain (41). In SA, Peter Hatzoglou and Max Hatzoglou helped Prospect District Cricket Club 'The Pirates' to a big win over sturt, Peter's 2/46 and 24 and Max's 56 doing the damage. Iain Carlisle smashed 43* off 22 for North Hobart Cricket Club, Alex Pyecroft performed well along with Corey Murfet in this game.
