24.01.2022 Santa is happy to not use the chimney as long as he knows EPM have completed a Safety Assessment of the lift before hand. Merry Christmas to all and thank you everyone for helping us get through the year.
21.01.2022 One way in which to improve the safety and service of the your lifts and escalators over time is to apply a step by step approach. In this way hazards can be identified and those which represent the greatest threat can be eliminated first. Talk to EPM for assistance with planning your VT road map.
20.01.2022 Interesting Fact: Number of Passengers Ever entered an elevator and though "How would we ever fit that many people in this lift?" based on the load notice in the lift car. Well Ill try and explain. Back in the late 1960's there was a standard 150lb's (68kg) used to determine people in a lift verses rated car load. It was around that point Europe moved to 75kg per person (average) as they believed 68kg's wasn't any longer valid. That was typically a standard.... As elevators are rated by load it became a simple formula of rated load divided by 75kg - Eg: 2500kg rated load / 75kg = 33 Passengers!! (Reality is you'd more likely have the number at 23 Passengers but that's another topic) For the record the 75kg was notional and not based on fact so this number was the typical number designers design to when referencing passengers per lift. Just when you thought that was clear, in 2012 due to work by Warpole et al we have starting to see variations to the standard 75kg and a table was produced scaling 177 different countries from Tonga to Bangladesh to determine the average passenger weight for lift passenger calculations. The world average is 62kg and Australia now typically now uses 77kg however you may still find lifts about that use other values.
19.01.2022 Helping a sick child fight their illness takes a big enough emotional toll on a family. Adding a financial strain can make it all almost too much to bear. Elevator Project Management are proud to be one of the sponsors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

12.01.2022 The improvement of the safety of lifts and escalators is a continual process. It results from expert considerations of any risk assessment carried out, experience of serious events occurring to lifts or escalators in service and the adoption of various standards, acts or regulations that are issued from time to time. Lifts and escalators brought up to the latest standards will reflect the highest state of the art safety standards that can be achieved based on the technology... available. This is not to say we can make lifts and escalators safer though. Talk to Elevator Project Management for options available to you. We helped this customer with lighting and safety enhancements.
08.01.2022 Maintenance contracts or agreements vary from contractor to contractor, but in general there are three types of contract within the lift and escalator industry. EPM have a NEW & EXCITING FOURTH OPTION
05.01.2022 The most common rated speeds of escalators is 0.5m/s, although speeds of 0.65 and 0.75m/s are available. But what about when the escalator or autowalk stops with people on it? Are people falling forward or back? Is the braking compliant? The Australian Standards has a requirement in relation to the braking distance and deceleration rate of an escalator / autowalk during the operation of the braking system. ... With tenants and public in mind, EPM have dedicated and calibrated testing tools and equipment that can supply documented evidence of the braking distance and deceleration rates of your escalators and autowalks during the operation of the braking system, ensuring they are stopping within the standards. If this is of interest to you please feel free to message me to discuss further.
