Farm Gate Market isn't on this weekend (to encourage everyone to stay home) but we will be back next Sunday 19th April to bring your essential dairy goodies. You’ll find us further down Bathurst St near the theatre. 2. We’ll all be practicing social distancing - please keep plenty of space at the stall and while queuing. ... 3. As you all know, we love nothing more than a good chat, but for now we’re aiming for a shop & go experience for the whole market. 4. As you're all aware, the situation is changing every day and so we've been working hard to ensure we can continue to supply our nourishing dairy products to you all (the cows have certainly been doing their part in continuing to produce their beautiful milk!).... We're doing everything we can back here at the farm to ensure that we keep our staff, customers and community safe throughout all this. We will continue to monitor the situation and current advice and adjust accordingly. Please bear with us as we may need to change the way we get our produce to you. In light of this, please find an update below for our market customers: LAUNCESTON - Harvest Market has been cancelled for this weekend. In order for all our Harvest customers to be able to buy our produce, we will be delivering to a select few retailers in Launceston, listed below. HOBART - Farm Gate Market is an integral part of our state’s food security system and as such, in line with Government advice, it will be open for trade this Sunday and for the foreseeable future. 05.01.2022 Hello again Hobart! Farm Gate Market has changed drastically to ensure it is exceeding all guidelines and offering locals a safer way to shop for essential food items. This market is outside, has very strict distancing measures in place including queue management and stallholder spacing, stringent hygiene practices (including hand washing prior to entry) and offers a very controlled environment where no produce is picked up by anyone before it is bought by the customer (see h...ttps://farmgatemarket.com.au/un-update-from-farm-gate.../ for an overview). Thank you all for following these new rules so well. Today the number of customers on site were monitored and there were never more than 150 at any one time across the day this is 9 square metres per customer, well in excess of the 4 square metres required. The Government has advised that farmers’ markets across the Nation are permitted to operate as they are considered an essential service, alongside supermarkets. It is with this advice that we have continued coming to market. Please let Premier Gutwein know that Hobart Farm Gate Market is an essential service, alongside other options for buying food (email: peter.gutwein @ parliament.tas.gov.au ) Please note, for those isolating at home, we do not suggest coming to the market or any other venue such as supermarkets to buy food.
