25.01.2022 My day off.... Spent getting organised for the school holidays . Craft +++ Lots of fun fun fun.

25.01.2022 Its this time of the year where so much happens behind the scenes so I thought Id let you know what has been going on. Recently I had my yearly residence assessment which ensures that I am complying with the regulations and that my environment is safe. This includes ensuring my working with children check is current ...and Shanes too. On Sunday I completed my yearly CPR and today Ive done some Asthma and Anaphylaxis training which focused on the use of an epi pen. This was provided by my scheme. Coming up there will be yearly car restraint checks, Kalamunda food service health check, Eastern Region Family Day Care self assessment. Most of these I can manage to do out of hours but occasionally , like today, I can do it while working.

25.01.2022 Lets keep our mob safe. Everyone is at risk of developing COVID-19. It is important to practise good hand and cough hygiene and physical distancing. Learn how you can protect your community and elders: https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for

25.01.2022 This video is a wonderful way to bring a child back to the present moment after feeling anxious, cross or annoyed. Simply tracing around each finger and breathing in and out can help reduce the stresses that have just occurred with your child. This Take Five exercise is super simple to remember and can be used on-the-spot when were overwhelmed, need some space to think, and when we want to calm down to make better choices. https://youtu.be/sh79w9pn9Cg

25.01.2022 Our caterpillar craft today turned out beautifully. We have noticed some caterpillars in the yard recently so thought wed replicate them .... pretty accurate representation if you ask me

24.01.2022 We have so much recycled cardboard at the moment so.... giant flowers it is!!

24.01.2022 THANKYOU to all my families for your support during March , April, May and June. It certainly was a stressful time for us all and I appreciate you all working with me while I made some necessary changes . I can honestly say that this has been the toughest year of my daycare career but I couldnt have done it without you all. A special call out must go to my husband Shane who kept me mentally on track on those days it got to me. Lets keep well and dont forget to sanitise

23.01.2022 My new obsession is wood! So today I replaced all the plastic home corner role play toys . Looks so much nicer. The children were so excited to play .

23.01.2022 Great idea .... including First Nations names onto addresses. https://www.huffingtonpost.com.au//australia-post-first-na

22.01.2022 Some pics of our day. Loving this spring weather

22.01.2022 Spring is in the air... so we did an impromptu photo shoot while the daisies are blooming ...

22.01.2022 Phew! That was a busy day. So much fun tho

21.01.2022 Today my little chefs wanted to make pretzels. They turned out so yum!

20.01.2022 All ready for some fun Christmas role play.

20.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day! We hope you have a lovely day today and enjoy the little gifts that were made for you.

20.01.2022 Today we made little white boards. Time to show off your beautiful drawings girls! Master L was fast asleep so missed out on this photo session.

20.01.2022 Our theme this week is indigenous Australians and their culture. We will be exploring painting techniques, reading stories and listening to music by our indigenous community. Today the girls were invited to paint a wooden cutout of an Australian animal by using a dot technique. This can be tricky to do as it requires a lot of concentration to put the dot exactly where they want it to go without smudging it. They turned out so beautifully. Well done girls.

18.01.2022 Some spring fun. We are enjoying these perfect days.

18.01.2022 Today the girls were invited to make their own edible bowls. I made some bread dough with some shredded cheese thrown in and then once rolled out the girls covered their bowls with the dough. Once baked we filled the bowls with our pasta and hey presto! Lunch was served and no dishes.... Can you hear the crunch?

17.01.2022 My little chefs helping to make a school holiday batch of sausage rolls. Love the thumbs up at the end...

17.01.2022 Today I traced around the girls bodies . Lots of giggles as I did this and lots of surprised faces when they saw their shapes. Miss L thought it looked bigger than her and Miss P just laughed at how big her head was. We then took off outside to paint these shapes and they look awesome. The girls were delighted with the end result.

17.01.2022 Good morning everyone. Earlier this year I had my flu vax and as a result I was invited to join in and do a weekly survey. The photo attached shows historic low spread of the flu. We all have a good idea as to why (ISO2020) but its a great reminder for us all to stay away from others when unwell. Well done everyone

16.01.2022 Today we are learning about the life cycle of caterpillars. Weve spotted a few recently but when we took off outside to find one theyd all run away..

16.01.2022 Everythings more fun when youve got friends.

16.01.2022 Livin' their best lives!

15.01.2022 Some fun letter learning today. The girls were invited to paint their name plate and each letter of their name . Once dried we had our very own jigsaw puzzles. This was a wonderful activity to do with my early learners as it encourages name recognition, letter recognition, discussion on the sound each letter makes, choice of colours to paint with and as we did it all together its also a great social activity.

14.01.2022 Over the weekend we had one twenty eight that decided to just sit in the bottle brush and drop the flowers. So today we made use of them during outside play. Australian ringneck, the broad-tailed parrot species Barnardius zonarius, is a bird native to Australia. Also called the following according to the Nyungar language of Southwest Australia, are dowarn [pronounced dowawn] and doomolok [dormawelawk]; Question.... does anyone know why western Australians call them twenty ...eights? Scroll down for answer ANSWER..... the subspecies in Western Australia is often referred to as the 'Twenty-eight Parrot' because its contact call is usually rendered as twenty-eight, with the call (and the name) is unknown in other parts of Australia.

13.01.2022 This is so nice.....

12.01.2022 Lots of painting today. Id cut these butterflies out a few weeks ago with the idea of making butterfly wings for the girls. Today we began decorating them . Once theyre dried we will attach some elastic to them so the girls can flyyyyy....

11.01.2022 A few pics of our art and craft using recycled cardboard.

09.01.2022 Lovely day outside this morning so we decided to wash the dolls...

09.01.2022 Here’s the latest flu graph. We’re all doing so well compared to other years.

09.01.2022 Today’s new toy is great for teaching the children about motion. Shane made this ramp walker that uses gravity to walk down the incline. Simple physics. The children are fascinated by this kangaroo. We love it.

08.01.2022 Todays new toy is great for teaching the children about motion. Shane made this ramp walker that uses gravity to walk down the incline. Simple physics. The children are fascinated by this kangaroo. We love it.

08.01.2022 Using off cuts of cardboard we made a automotive small world play . Lots of fun making it and so much more fun playing with it

08.01.2022 Lovely watching these two play with our new wooden vehicles.

07.01.2022 I’m so excited to watch the children use these new wooden vehicles. They will replace my plastic ones eventually. These have been the main focus of play for a couple of weeks now. My truly talented husband has made a set of emergency vehicles which we can use as part of our emergency evacuation program. I have a list that Shane is patiently completing for me. It’s like Xmas every day. Yay.

07.01.2022 Some fun in the sun .

05.01.2022 Invitation to play today involved learning what some of the indigenous symbols mean and incorporating these symbols in with our art work. Using a hot glue gun to draw the symbols onto the boomerang shape worked well. Sort of like an embossed texture. The children were all interested in what the symbols meant and quickly memeorised them.

04.01.2022 Last night I attended a training session along with my scheme members from Eastern Region Family DayCare and educators on protective behaviours. The program and resources aim to educate and empower children and young people, and to help parents, educators, and other professionals create safer communities. It was run by https://wachildsafetyservices.com. I recommend taking a look at their website as they offer some valuable resources, some are free.

04.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning... We will remember them.

04.01.2022 Im loving these new aprons made by Master Ls mother. Theyre perfect and I cant wait to see the children wearing them . Thanks Kait

03.01.2022 Today we had a cooking activity and my apprentice chefs were in charge of the photography...

03.01.2022 Some pics of our small world and messy play

03.01.2022 Everyone please welcome Miss S. Weve had a lovely, happy morning with many more to come.

02.01.2022 Lets have a dance party in the kitchen they said..... sure why not.

02.01.2022 Love my new wooden vehicles made by my awesome husband. The children are always so excited to see what Shane has made for them.

02.01.2022 Lately my little group have enjoyed role playing with the doctors set. So this morning before everyone arrived I made 4 little doctors bags from recycled cardboard. Added some home made thermometers made from pop sticks and a straw and some other essential equipment . The morning was spent having medical consultations. Apparently we are all well and dont need any medicine. Thanks my little medical officers! I do feel better now.

01.01.2022 Always was Always will be NAIDOC week
