19.01.2022 There are many parents out there with children in Years 3, 5, 7 & 9 who will by now know that the NAPLAN testing is coming up. There are some tips and information for Parents/Carers on this website below. You do have a choice and can choose to formally withdraw your child from the NAPLAN tests if you wish, but please discuss with your child's school. Most of all, my advice would be to not make a huge deal about it as this *can* produce unnecessary anxiety in some children. ... 18.01.2022 Even on cold afternoons it is nice to rug up and head outside for some fun! Ignore my choice of footwear, it was cold and just me and kiddo ;) We had so much fun riding up and down on scooters for the afternoon this week :)

18.01.2022 A beautiful Sunday afternoon babysitting a Miss 3 :) We spent the afternoon colouring in, reading books, working together to put puzzles together, finger painting, playing trains, singing and laughing. I really enjoyed the afternoon getting to spend it with a little one who loves life!

17.01.2022 Tasks that seem so simple to us as adults, are ones that children still need to wrap their heads around. Subtracting twwo digit numbers! Mathematics can be fun too. It doesn't have to be boring! iPad/phone apps, worksheets, quizzing games, board games.

13.01.2022 Year One parents I am a big fan of the Reading Recovery program. One of my Nanny charges last year was a part of this program and the difference in his literacy skills from the middle of the year, to end, were amazing! Highly reccomend the program if it is offered to your child.

12.01.2022 Tonight as I tucked in Miss 4 at babysitting, I sat next to her bed as we read 5 books together. Reading is one of my most favourite past times with children. It opens their minds to a whole new world and gives that one on one time to really spend quality time with the child. 12.01.2022 What a lovely day it was today! I have spent the day running errands and caring for my mini zoo I have happening at my house. I own 2 dogs (well, they own me!), 8 rabbits and also breed budgies. So if you need a babysitter or Nanny for your children and you have pets around the home - not a problem at all! I am happy to take dogs along for walks while taking the children out for some fresh air and a play in the park. I hope the weather holds up nice tomorrow so you can all enjoy more family time :) I am off to babysit some little ones tonight I am meeting for the first time and looking forward to it!

07.01.2022 Well what a busy weekend it is for me. I have been babysitting for two adorable twin toddlers and their awesome big brother tonight. Tomorrow night I will be looking after a gorgeous little miss for the first time. I can't wait as our meet went so well. I am always available to come and meet you and your family ahead of the babysitting time so we all become familiar and comfortable with each other. It makes for a much less stressful experience for the little ones :) ... My current availability is as follows Friday 9am-3pm. 07.01.2022 My after school hours Nanny job is such fun! I have been with these children for a year now and we get to know more about each other each and every day! Tomorrow Miss 8 turns 9. To celebrate she got some craft activities from me as a birthday gift and we had a fun afternoon painting. You can pick up these little packs from Kmart or the Reject Shop for a few dollars. Great activities for rainy days like today!

07.01.2022 Two of my 5 days at "work" (Nannying) this week were spent playing The Game of Life. A great one for all primary school aged children and beyond! Highly reccomend if looking for some new boards games for the family to play over the weekend :)

05.01.2022 Mst 7 & Miss 9 enjoyed their fruit kebabs we made on Friday! A bowl of fruit again for afternoon tea seemed so dull, so we shook it up a little! A great one for toddlers to school aged, to get them interested in helping and eating healthy!

04.01.2022 This is extremley important. Don't make home readers seem like a chore. Make it fun! Funny! Use expression when reading with your preppy. Buy books on topics that interest them. So so important.

04.01.2022 It has been a very busy week for me with my regular Nanny job aswell as babysitting. This week I have cared for 12 children across 4 families. I am so incredibly thankful for the amazing parents who trust me with the care of their children. I truly love what I do and spending time with these children warms my heart! So thank you for inviting me into your lives <3 I look forward to meeting a new little boy next week aswell as seeing my ongoing families :) ... Elise xx
