23.01.2022 MAJOR CATASTROPHE at work today, our coffee machines engine light came on. After booking it in, carrying out an inspection on the hoist, we found it was leaking milk. Now to strip and repair but looks as complicated as a modern VW. Lets hope the repair is cheaper

23.01.2022 Its always good to have a busy day, finish all the work and start fresh the next day. Sometimes however that doesnt work. This is 5pm Tuesday and then 5pm Wednesday.

22.01.2022 We have been really busy lately and havent had much time to sort out the shop. We have installed our new 4 post hoist and thought we might take some pics from the scissor lift. Its not a view we have every day so thought we might post some pics.

22.01.2022 MK7 R Haldex Service At some stage you have been quoted to do your Haldex oil and wondered what is involved. It isnt all that complicated but is a very important part of your maintenance. Once the oil is drained the pump is removed to check the filter. Most of the time the filter is blocked and needs to be cleaned. Once the filter and pump housing are cleaned it gets new seals, new bolts, new oil and you are good to go. Your Haldex is now back to normal operation.

21.01.2022 HEADLIGHT LEVEL SENSOR Common fault when doing your own front or rear suspension work. Everything installed correctly except for an intermittent warning light. After a quick inspection found the culprit. Expensive part and no local stock. With a temporary repair this customer is good to go. New part ordered and waiting for delivery.

20.01.2022 Audi Q3 with a rough idle (no fault codes) but still goes well. Camera inspection shows some strange shapes in the cylinder. Leak down test on cylinder 1 says it all. OUCH!

12.01.2022 From this slightly out of shape piston to this water drenched GT, another 1.4 engine problem sorted and back on the road. New pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets plus a whole lot more and the customer is thrilled to have their Golf GT back and running better than ever.

10.01.2022 Its time for a new Golf so our old Gti needs to go. This car has been used as my daily driver and as a customer loan vehicle. It is a 2010 model with Racingline springs and a Stage 1 OEM+ Racingline tune. It has had the following done to it, recon head, new timing chain, tensioner, guides, bridge/bracket, magnet, solenoid valve, water pump assembly, clutch pack and all the usual servicing. It has done, wait for it, 287 000km. Still goes well and is reliable as hell. Going to advertise it for $7000 and see what happens from there. Open to all offers. CAR HAS BEEN SOLD. 05.01.2022 We just did an inspection and oil and filter change on a VW Polo that was using oil. We have rebuilt the engine recently and were just doing a follow up service. As you would expect all is good with no oil consumption at all. Customer now has a super clean Polo Gti, no oil consumption and trouble free motoring with long guarantees. 03.01.2022 MK7 GTI CAMSHAFT CORRELATION Does your Gti have any of the following faults 1. Engine warning light 2. Camshaft correlation fault... 3. Hard to start 4. Stalls when you stop 5. Rough idle You may have a stretched chain, faulty tensioner, worn bridge or a number of other faults. To do the job correctly means replacing almost all the parts in the pictures plus a few more. If done correctly you can be satisfied that your Gti is fixed correctly and good to go for a long time. Any jobs involving timing chains, or possible timing issues always get a proper diagnosis including compression test and leak down test.
