25.01.2022 In over your head in the office I can help keep you afloat! . I often get asked by clients, what are my tips and tricks for getting organised when there is so much to get done, so many interruptions and only so many hours in the day, how do you remain calm and focused? . Well, everyone has their own methods, but here's a bit of tough love to help you reduce some of that overwhelm.... . You may have 100 things on your to do list, but probably only 10 of them really matter. You need to focus on what truly matters. . Stop Taking on More Work When you find yourself in a hole, the first thing you need to do is stop digging. I am amazed when I see individuals who are behind on their work agreeing to take on more. Learn to say No when appropriate. . Reclaim Your Calendar When trying to catch up, you need to reclaim as much time as possible for your work. Look at your calendar and determine which appointments you need to cancel or reschedule. Then block time for your work and deliverables to ensure that you have adequate time to make up ground. . Minimize Your To Do List If your To Do list has become unmanageable, its time to get it under control. Write it all down, review your list and eliminate any tasks that arent important. Reduce your list to the bare essentials. . Work Priorities Only You need to stop doing anything that isnt a priority. Make sure that lesser priority tasks are not being given attention. Put all of your effort on the top few tasks that must be done. . Put Yourself First Many people have trouble putting themselves first. Make sure you are eating healthily, getting enough rest and finding time in your week to do something you love. . Stop struggling to get too many things done, and instead concentrate on one task at a time. Shut down your tabs, turn off your phone, stop multitasking, concentrate on one thing at a time and focus on the important. . That's the shortened version! Update and streamline their administration processes, create to do lists and organise their calendars . Bring their inbox down to zero and help respond to their clients/customer or supplier enquiries quickly and efficiently... . Help with creating content and scheduling of their social media or marketing newsletters . Become a 'gatekeeper' between the client and their disruptions, in some cases I act as the first point of contact for their business . Clear all their daily or monthly admin tasks they don't have time for, whether for personal or business, allowing them space to concentrate on growing their business .
