22.01.2022 Some super results coming in from Team Elite Performance and Recovery! @elisepwatkins and I have been working on upper body stability and control and the results are showing! Elise's goal for her first run back was a safe and controlled jumping run and she certainly achieved that! Elise came in 8th in the 95cm at Tooradin Hunter Trials with a nice safe, clear jumping run and just 11 time penalties! Looking forward to seeing how this combination performs this season!

21.01.2022 The results keep pouring in from Team Elite Performance and Recovery! @hockingnorman performed a super dressage test at Gisborne Horse Trials placing 10th after dressage and showing some fantastic improvements in the showjumping phase! Norman and I have been working on producing a consistent and stable seat, which is showing positive results in Squid's overall performance! Norman's dedication and work ethic is something to be admired! Looking forward to seeing what this team can produce with consistent, hard work!

20.01.2022 I believe that clear communication is the key to a successful riding combination. That's why I always make sure I take the time to clearly communicate to my clients and make sure they understand the corrections I'm giving them. If I can communicate clearly to you, then you can communicate clearly with your horse to produce the correct response.

19.01.2022 We got polos! Loving our new Elite Performance and Recovery polo shirts!

17.01.2022 Let's talk about stirrups! Did you know that your stirrups contribute to stabilising your bodyweight evenly in the saddle and the vertical force you place on your horse's back? Achieving an even balance between each stirrup not only prevents increased and uneven vertical forces on your horse's back, but also helps with your ability to ride straight and forward on two tracks. Now, of course I believe that core strength, balance and a still leg are all of paramount importance ...when it comes to symmetry and balance, but I also believe that having a sturdy base of support beneath your foot is going to make your job a lot easier when trying to achieve balance and symmetry. I want to start by saying that this is not an ad. I have not been paid or gifted to promote Jin Stirrups in any way. I have been using @jin_stirrupaustralia for a couple of years now and I can honestly say that they are worth the investment! As an eventer, I compete in all three disciplines and use Jin Stirrups for each of the three phases. In terms of dressage, they allow me to have a good base of support and good grip under the balls of my feet. This allows me to distribute my weight evenly between both stirrups. It also allows me to concentrate on keeping my heels downs and my leg still rather than worrying about my foot slipping through the stirrup. In the jumping phases, it also gives the added feeling of security. Even when my feet are wet in the cross country course my feet don't slip allowing me to concentrate on the task at hand. This is just my opinion on Jin Stirrups and in no way do I make any guarantees on the product, but if this helps someone address a problem they've been having then I'm happy to make the recommendation Please feel free to leave comments on your experiences or if there's any other products you'd like me to review or advise on. Stay safe.

14.01.2022 Welcoming Lacey Hopkins to the Elite Performance and Recovery Sponsored Rider Team! Elite Performance and Recovery is so excited to have Lacey on board as a sponsered rider! The dedication and commitment she shows to her riding is something all rider's should aspire to and I am so excited to work with her and watch her grow! Lacey is 12 years old and has been riding for the passed 4 years. Lacey got her first pony, Finn (pictured), a 10 year old Australian Riding Pony, a yea...r and a half ago and is currently training at preliminary level dressage. Lacey aims to progress up the levels of pony dressage and work on her showjumping. "I have only had 2 sessions with Elite Performance and Recovery and Finn is feeling and working the best he ever has!" #eliteperformanceandrecovery

10.01.2022 To help you understand what the horse feels when you sit crookedly in the saddle "Load a wheelbarrow heavily to one side as in the center illustration. Now pu...sh the wheelbarrow, and feel how it pulls to the weighted side and how you are forced to lean in that direction to compensate. That’s how your horse feels when you sit unevenly in the saddle, as shown in the left image. When you sit evenly, the horse will be centered and balanced as shown in the illustration on the right." Sharon Sweet Illustration by Sandy Rabinowitz This Solutions concept is brought to you by Practical Horseman magazine's Summer 2019 issue.

04.01.2022 Hi all, with all the new restrictions going on in Victoria, I thought it would be a good idea to start a Core Strength Challenge! Unfortunately, we're unable to have our instructors coach us and there's no competitions running so to keep up the motivation I thought we might as well use our spare time to better prepare ourselves for the upcoming competition season (whenever that may be)! I'll be posting what you need to do each day on my story and I'll also be posting a template for you guys to screenshot and post in your stories each day with the days challenge checked off to keep us all accountable! Who's in?
