17.01.2022 Good morning everyone. I do apologize for the lateness of this update but I wanted to have exhausted every option and understanding of the rules and/or guidelines before doing so. As of this morning, we have been made aware and advised that Remedial Massage / Sports Therapy / Myotherapy & Neuromuscular Therapy are now deemed NON ESSENTIAL services by the Andrews Government in stage 4 restrictions and as such, have been advised to cease practice over the course of this 6 wee...k lock down due to being classified the same as Beauty Therapists, Waxing & Tanning salons and tattoo artists. This is regrettable and as much as we believe this decision to be completely wrong to shut down an important link in the HEALTH field because we are complete polar opposites to the above mentioned fields, as professionals we will adhere to the regulations and stipulations made from our governing bodies and the state government in order to keep our patients, their families and the community safe. This is and always will be our TOP priority. We will keep everyone updated as things evolve and/or change. In the meantime, please feel free to get in touch should you need advice. 13.01.2022 Compensation from a functionally opposite muscle or muscle group is something I see on a daily basis and happens to everyone of all levels of activity and/or participation. Earlier this week, I consulted with one of my high performance athletes who mentioned his lower back felt tight but couldn’t recall doing anything to trigger it. Turns out that all the kicking he had been doing completely overloaded his hip flexor (#Psoas) to the point it neurologically shut down in ...the movement sequence to which resulted in his lower back (#QuadratusLumborum) to completely take full load. Both are lower back/core muscles but are also #FunctionalOpposites so that was a good starting point to run #EliteProtocol. R Psoas = Neurological Weak R QL = Neurological Strong Released QL followed by activation of Psoas.....
