02.01.2022 41 reps is so far the number to beat set by Coach Edward. We changed our bench press testing from a 3RM to ‘max reps’ at 65kg this year. Although not as good at distinguishing true strength between strong players (as stronger players often get so many reps that muscular endurance, not just strength comes into play). However it certainly does distinguish strength for the vast majority of players we test (over 90%) and is an easy, fun and fast test for those players less experienced in the press.
