The EB is a luxurious bathroom model that reflects 35 years of manufacturing excellence and expertise. In fact, Auto-Trail a member of Europe’s leading leisure company, the Trigano Group is the most award-winning motorhome in the European market. Europe produces 76,000 motorhomes per annum, compared to approximately 1500 in Australia. So, from the perspectives of knowledge and volume, Auto-Trail is a clear-cut winner. Auto-Trails are the quietest motorhome in the marketplace and like the entire range, the EB is fully ADR compliant. And every Auto-Trail is finished with high gloss GRP, which is scratch and hail-resistant. THE GLORY WITHIN I could sing the praises ad nauseam on the EB’s internal attributes, but here are just a few: a spacious front lounge area that seats six; a modern L-shaped kitchen; a French bed; and a plush rear bathroom with an extra-large separate shower cubicle. I’m also impressed by the spacious open plan highlighted by curved and stylish cabinetry, copious storage, a panoramic Skyline sunroof, and an ergonomically designed cabin. The cab area is highlighted by fully upholstered height-adjustable driver and passenger Captain’s seats with twin armrests and swivel seat bases. It also has a Techno dash with a brushed alloy effect, a high-level instrument cluster with chrome bezels, and steering wheel controls for radio and telephone. Internally, the EB also features ‘heavy domestic’ bound-edged removable carpets, which overlays cushioned vinyl flooring, luxury upholstery, domestic mixer taps, an entertainment system, a cocktail cabinet, and under-seat storage. It also comes with Aosta Cherry solid plywood furniture, pleated flyscreens/blinds to all opening windows, and metal rollerball drawer runners. And there is ducted heating which runs off the hot water system. AT REST AND ON THE MOVE The EB has more than adequate capacities, including 135L fresh and 85L grey water tanks, a 100Ah AGM battery and a 100W solar panel. I collected the EB from general manager Craig Pickard’s Elite RV dealership in Lynbrook, Vic, and took it for a spin around the picturesque Mornington Peninsula. And it would not have ‘blown out a candle’ cruising through the undulating and spectacular landscape. This model comes with an efficient 177bhp engine with a precise six-speed Fiat Comfort-Matic automatic gearbox, plus ESC and traction control all as standard. To put it succinctly, the EB drives like a car it floats on air! And, it turns on a ‘threepenny bit’. Additionally, with more than 1000kg of payload, you can take everything away including the ‘kitchen sink’, if you will excuse the pun. This Auto-Trail also oozes external eye-candy. I simply love its distinctive graphics. But there is even more to the eye on the outside, including a brushed aluminium front grille and lower skid plate, GRP high gloss aerodynamic over-cab roof moulding, an integrated wind-out awning, and oodles of storage. TIMING YOUR RUN But here is more good news Elite RV is clearing limited 2019 stock and has slashed $10,000 off the EB’s price, making it $161,900 driveaway. Meanwhile, the 2020 EB model will feature an all-new nine-speed fully automatic gearbox, lighter colour schemes, and new vehicle colours in the front cabin.
