For my clients that know me you already understand how I feel about this. My passion to educate my clients to explore healthier options when it comes to their skin health which long term is always a better option body health wise. Chronic Cystic Acne and Rosacea can be debilitating on a clients lifestyle from a social aspect as well as mental health a...nd I can empathise with any client for choosing meds to improve quality of life. In clinic skin treatment plans are implemented to maintain the integrity of skin. Long term side effects of treating conditions such as acne and rosacea with topical or oral antibiotics, contraception and roaccutane long term in most cases only creates a bandaid effect not a healthy resolution, and the impact of the long term use of medication for skin conditions like these outweighs the whole quick fix solution. The impact on skin health and on the gastrointestinal system doesnt discriminate between men or women and can potentially lead to inflammatory issues with the gut later In life. Its very common when you stop taking the medication the acne and rosacea comes back and sometimes with a vengeance, and you can also then present with other skin health issues as a result. Antibiotics are certainly there to save lives, however when it comes to your skin health I recommend making a more informed decision and explore options to discover a holistic approach which is always a healthier option. Cortisol suppresses our immunity and nerve responses in our gut, leading to inflammation in the gut. Sleep patterns are also interrupted preventing our skin and body to rest and repair. 09.01.2022 My passion for education continues with Skin Health and the connection to PCOS, Estrogen and Auto immune Disease A healthy gut regulates the barrier between the intestines and blood stream. When the bacteria in the gut is out of balance and inflammation is present this causes hyper permeability in the intestinal lining. Toxins, irritants, food particles are now released into the bloodstream damaging other vital organs of the body, including the brain and the skin. This i...s when leaky gut leads to auto immune disease and a state of inflammation in the body. The liver, responsible for filtering out toxins and breaking down hormones, can become clogged, toxic and overflow into the bloodstream, skin starts to become inflamed, acne lesions develop and skins immune response goes into overdrive. The skin responds the same way when Estrogen dominance occurs, when the liver is not able to breakdown excess Estrogen. Estrogen levels in the blood are increased. Gut dysbiosis also referred to ‘leaky gut’ is the term used when the gut microbiota becomes out of balance, which can lead to inflammation in the gut lining and digestive issues.
