20.01.2022 EMH was excited to be celebrating NAIDOC this year with personalised chocolate made for us in partnership with The Boroughs Store and Monsieur Truffe ! Amazing combination of the native plant Old Man Saltbush and caramel. So wonderful to see these bush tucker plants being valued today and made the hero ingredient. #bushtucker #chocolate #naidoc2020

12.01.2022 EMH created this last year for the 16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women. Sadly, these statistics have not changed and Aboriginal women experience staggering rates of family violence. #closethegap #orangetheworld #16daysofactivism #endfamilyviolence #notonemore
08.01.2022 Well done Victoria! 14 days with no new COVID cases. We’d like to celebrate today our health care professionals and the role that they continue to play in supporting the community.
07.01.2022 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children were almost 10 times more likely than non-Indigenous children to be in out of home care in 2019, according to the latest Family Matters report. And whilst "The investments are happening, they're not happening where they should be. More money is actually going into child protection, so removal of children rather than looking at how do we preserve families, how do we reunite families."
06.01.2022 Did you know that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples life expectancy is 10 years shorter than other Australians? The Close the Gap campaign aims to fix this by working towards health equality by the year 2030. National Close The Gap day gives us an opportunity to acknowledge the strength and resilience of our mob and gives us a chance to share information and educate those around us on this issue which strengthens our voices in demanding meaningful action from our... Governments. Here is some information from Oxfam which discusses this health crisis further: In March 2008 the Federal Government announced the biggest-ever increase in funding for Indigenous health programs. 6 years after this announcement the Government didn’t just not follow through with these programs- they deeply cut funding for them. More recently they also put a freeze on funding for community-controlled health services. These cuts must be restored and priority must be given for community services to access the funds they need to implement culturally appropriate programs.
