21.01.2022 Hi all, Just letting you all know of one very important change for this weekend. Our 12pm Second service is changing location from Elizabeth church to the New Life Community Centre, located at Shop 9, 240 Peachey Rd, Smithfield Plains. This is due to our numbers being low enough to fit in that location and also because the youth/contemporary Sabbath school class is meeting there and are the ones running this service. ... This means our service times will now be as per below. First church service (traditional) - 9am @ Elizabeth Church Sabbath School (Adult, Cambodian, African, Kids, JTZ) - 10:30am @ Elizabeth Church Sabbath School (Youth/Contemporary) - 10:30pm @ New Life Community Centre Second church service (shorter and contemporary) - 12pm @ New Life Community Centre Also 2 weeks ago we had too many attend first service. I really need people to nominate which service they want to attend. You only need to do this once, but after you have nominated a service, please let me know if you wont be attending that week. Otherwise I will assume you will attend. Also I need to know all the names of those attending, not just the numbers. 21.01.2022 Hi all, Just letting you all know of a couple of changes for our service times. Apologies of the lateness of this change, it was only decided recently. We have been made aware of regulations regarding the serving of food we were not previously aware of which has led to us making the decision that we will not to hold any lunches from now until restrictions are further eased. ... This means our service times will now be as per below. First church service (traditional) - 9am Sabbath School - 10:30am Second church service (shorter and contemporary) - 12pm The youth/contemporary Sabbath School class will be meeting at the New Life Community Centre, shop 9 240 Peachey Rd, Smithfield Plains. The other Sabbath School classes will be held at Elizabeth Church Please note we will not be having an overflow in the hall. We aim to have the second service finished by 1pm so people can get home in time for lunch and it is not too late. If you have not yet communicated which service you intend on attending please communicate with me so I have an idea on numbers. 21.01.2022 This is why we need to be so careful right now. As of March 18th, 60% - thats over 5,000 cases - of all Corona cases in S. Korea were attributed to patient 31, a lady who attended church while mildly sick. Within a week, 1,200 members of the church she attended had fever and were soon diagnosed with Corona. 17.01.2022 This is Elaine, she has been a faithful member of the Elizabeth Seventh-day Adventist Church most of her life. She has tirelessly dedicated most of her time to the mission of the church including in being involved with Pathfinders for over 50 years (she is still involved). She does this even though she doesnt have much herself. All she does have is a simple home in Davoren Park in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide that she bought 53 years ago for 9,000 pounds where she lives ...with her son Cliff. On Sabbath morning she suffered a devastating loss as a fire started in the kitchen and destroyed her house including most of her possessions. Due to not being able to afford it, she didnt have insurance and now she has lost most of what she has. If you can help out in anyway with expenses to help her to get back on her feet she would greatly appreciate it. Every little bit counts and would be a huge blessing. 16.01.2022 Hi all, This week I will be preaching for our online church. For upcoming services, and who is speaking, please note below. Also you will be aware that restrict...ions have eased regarding churches and might be wondering when we can get back to church. Unfortunately it is not a very simple proposition at the moment as we are still required to meet a lot of rules including the 4m2 rule which severely limits the number of people we can have in a space. What this means at the moment is that we are not reopening immediately. We will be discussing this week what the level 3 restrictions will mean. Elizabeth church will be running a small adult sabbath school class but at the moment it is for invitees only so we can keep the numbers below the required limit. If you have not been able to attend church or login online but would like to attend, please let me know and I can add you to the group. 13.01.2022 Hi all, We had a special board meeting tonight night and we discussed what the impact of the new COVID outbreak in SA means for our church. The government has reintroduced the 4m2 rule which effectively halves the current capacity of our spaces at church. As such, it immediately rules out being able to run church and sabbath school as we have been doing currently. ... We not only discussed what we are allowed to do but what response is the best for our health and community. We decided to take a direction with an abundance of caution and take our sabbath school and church services online for the next 2 weeks. We will reassess this continually in light of what is happening and the rules given by the government. This was also influenced by the fact most of our members live in hotspot areas. Below are the details for the services for this week and next week. Birdwood and Elizabeth Churches will suspend physical gathering for the next 2 weeks (21 & 28 Nov) Below are online details if you would like to still connect. 11.01.2022 It is with great sadness in my heart that I share the news that a spiritual giant of Elizabeth Church has departed and left us. On Sunday evening at 9pm Jan Wat...son passed away from a heart attack. In every sense of the word she was a spiritual mentor to me, a confidante and a friend. She was someone I could go to when there was no one else I could speak to. She was a woman of God full of love for everyone and accepting of all regardless of their background, struggles or situation. She had a huge heart to help those who were down of their luck and was one acquainted with grief and hardship herself, but she was always quicker to give rather than take. She also deeply loved and invested in our youth and would forgo her own preference to give opportunities for them to take the reigns of the church and grow and even when they made mistakes, she only had love and encouragement for them. She modelled, grace, transparency, love for all and vulnerability and handled it with pure class. She was Nana Jan to all and was the matriarch of our church. I pray as we remember this great woman of God that we can decide to have a little bit of Jan in all of us. Vale Jan and may you rest in peace. When we arise at the resurrection, Ill be looking to see her face as she sees Jesus, the hope of her soul and the joy on her face will fill my heart. See more

05.01.2022 Hi all, Just letting you all know of one very important change for this weekend. Our 12pm Second service is changing location from Elizabeth church to the New Life Community Centre, located at Shop 9, 240 Peachey Rd, Smithfield Plains. This is due to our numbers being low enough to fit in that location and also because the youth/contemporary Sabbath school class is meeting there and are the ones running this service. ... This means our service times will now be as per below. First church service (traditional) - 9am @ Elizabeth Church Sabbath School (Adult, Cambodian, African, Kids, JTZ) - 10:30am @ Elizabeth Church Sabbath School (Youth/Contemporary) - 10:30pm @ New Life Community Centre Second church service (shorter and contemporary) - 12pm @ New Life Community Centre Also 2 weeks ago we had too many attend first service. I really need people to nominate which service they want to attend. You only need to do this once, but after you have nominated a service, please let me know if you won’t be attending that week. Otherwise I will assume you will attend. Also I need to know all the names of those attending, not just the numbers. We will be meeting in a casual relaxed atmosphere with a 50 service followed by round table discussion for the older ones and a kids program for the under 12s.
