24.01.2022 Still working on the Queen Anne set but have gotten a little distracted again (I tend to do that don't I?!) This time by a custom piece for a little one that's due any day now. We're taking this country boori change table and giving it a scandi make over! Still a little way to go but I'm so happy with how it's coming along!!
23.01.2022 Back working on the Queen Anne dresser again today. Iv had a few minors setbacks with this one. When I took the old fabric off the stool I discovered the board and the padding were just completely falling apart. So new board and new padding and voila! New looking stool! Not 100% happy with my upholstering skills so I will tweak that a bit yet but I just couldn't wait to show off this beautiful fabric!
23.01.2022 Back working on the Queen Anne dresser again today (remember that one? It's been so long!) I had a few dramas with my upholstering and long story short, I needed new fabric. I was sooo disappointed as I loved the colours in the old fabric and just wasn't quite sold on the new floral I'd chosen.... until I saw Adairs latest collection. New bedroom anyone??
22.01.2022 Things have been pretty quiet on the furniture front here at Elke and Idony. It seems mum life is just proving to be too busy at the moment, and with Christmas creeping up so quickly I don't like my chances of completing much more before the new year! If I do manage to fit any furniture in I'll be sure to post my progress but otherwise you may not see much from me until the new year! Merry Christmas everyone!

16.01.2022 So I got a little impatient today and decided to take the bedside tables to our bedroom to see what they looked like there. I'm devastated!! Between having a king size bed that sits higher than the average bed, a fairly wide bedroom and big chunky concrete lamps the bedside tables just look small and insignificant in comparison. In this space they went from being a real show piece to something that just didn't look overly special. They're just not right for this room. So..bad news for me means good news for anyone else who was considering them. Since I actually want them to sell this time (I'll be honest, I really didn't before!) the price has been reduced to $490 for the pair.

14.01.2022 This image is the inspiration for my next project. I tend to get my ideas from anything other than other furniture as I kind of feel like I'm cheating or copying in a way if I look at other furniture too much. Hopefully this is what will keep Elke and Idony furniture unique! It may be an image of a room that I love and so I design the piece to fit in that room or it may be an outfit that I love the colour combination of. In this case I'm really loving the soft neautral tones of the image. I love how warm and inviting the whole image is while still using modern grey tones. Hopefully these bedside tables will exude the same casual warmth!
14.01.2022 The scandi change table makeover is complete and it's ready to head off to its new home to await the arrival of its new little owner. I just love the gorgeous tan leather handles against the beautiful crisp white. Complete with clean white drawers ready for all things baby! I can't wait to see it in the beautiful nursery you've set up Kellie Stevens and Darcy Knauth!

11.01.2022 SOLD! The not so ugly anymore duckling went off to its new home this morning. Hopefully 2 young boys will be very happy with the new addition to their bedroom!
10.01.2022 I have one beside table complete and ready to show but silly me had misplaced the silver caps for the leather drawer pulls for the second table. So it will still be a few days probably before they are ready for sale while I wait for some replacements to be posted from Melbourne. 10.01.2022 So I finally have a free day and while I really should be finishing the Queen Anne set or sanding some bedside tables that I have sitting there, its hot! And I'd much rather stay inside with the air con on! So instead I've been using up some old paint from old projects. It's been years since I've painted!! ...I'll get back to furniture one day!

06.01.2022 It's full stream ahead here today! Just a little sneak peak into where i'm going with this one. I've white washed the tops of the tables then the base will be this gorgeous soft warm grey with tan leather strap handles. Some of you may remember my inspiration pic I posted a very long time ago for these besides, I think i'm on the right track, don't you?
06.01.2022 Busy afternoon finishing sanding the bedside tables and painting. These ones will be special! I've had a little splurge on some gorgeous handles for these ones. Hopefully they'll be ready to go by the end of next week... that's if they make it out of my house. The possibility of me keeping them for myself is rather high this time
