21.01.2022 EFC is restarting next Saturday but only for people who have fenced before, due to equipment restrictions / limitations on sharing. If you have fenced with EFC before and would like to fence this term, please PM me for details. We all hope that in Term 4 we will be able to have new starters again, as equipment sharing restrictions may have lifted.

08.01.2022 Come and try day Hi all, we will run a come and try day with a twist on Sat 13 Feb. The twist is, it will be for friends of fencers, so you are encouraged to bring your friends along to come and try fencing. New participants will be using plastics only.... The cost to your friends for the session will be free (normally $30). There will also be a bonus if your friend signs up and pays for the term on the day (cash only), they will receive $20 off their term fees and you will receive a $20 rebate. This only applies if they sign and pay on the day. They are of course very welcome to join and pay at any time, but the discount and rebate will not apply. So round up your friends and we will see them on the second Saturday of the term.

05.01.2022 Dear Fencers and Families, Please take time to read this communication. The current guidelines from the Department of health and SportAus do not call for an imm...ediate cancellation of all sport participation. FencingWA has decided to go ahead with this weekends WA State Open #1. Competitor numbers are not high enough for us to go even close to the new limit of 100 people at an indoor gathering/event set by the government. However, FencingWA need to continually refer to the current Health guidelines. In view of this, we ask you to read the following information and adhere to these guidelines which are for both your safety and other members of our community. As part of the social distancing recommendations by the Australian Health Department, it is recommended that people do not shake hands and try to stay 1 to 1.5 metres distance. FencingWA does not want to exclude spectators but in the interest of minimising the number of people in the venue so that everyone can try to keep the recommended 1 to 1.5 meters distance please consider your need to attend. Reminder: Anyone who entered Australia from international travel after midnight (EST) on Sunday 15/3/2020 must self isolate for 14 days and it is an offence not to do so. If a you feel unwell, a member of your family, or someone you have been in close contact with is unwell stay at home . (We will refund your entry without a medical note) If you feel unsafe competing in the event due to the current health situation please do not compete. Contact [email protected] (We will refund your entry) Do not get into close contact with others. Fencers, spectators and officials should minimise physical contact as much as is practicable, for example no shaking hands. Just a salute or forearm bump at the end of bouts is acceptable. There will be soap and water in the bathrooms so please wash your hands regularly. We ask that fencers and families provide their own hand sanitiser and wipes. Do not cough and Sneeze over other people. ALWAYS cover your nose/mouth. Please bring your own tissues and dispose of them into waste bins. Please bring your own water bottles to fill with water. Avoid putting your mouth and bottle close to water fountains. If you are going to attend as a spectator and are feeling unwell, a member of your family, or someone you have been in close contact with is unwell please stay away. We also ask that if you are attending as a spectator please also follow the above guidelines regarding Hygiene. FencingWA would appreciate everyone's cooperation to keep our community safe. Any questions, please email us at [email protected]
