21.01.2022 THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE! Congratulations to Elyssa Mullaley who is now an official Football West Referee Elyssa has refereed many games for our Mini Roos over the last few seasons, gaining the experience and attributes to completing her accreditation to becoming a Football West Referee.... Well done Elyssa and congratulations on refereeing your first game last weekend. Remember... all referees have to start somewhere, and that every volunteer or paid referee is not perfect, and will be someones daughter, someones son, someones dad so be kind! We all make mistakes, even in our fields of expertise!

21.01.2022 Round 11 Photo of the Week thanks to McDonalds Ellenbrook goes to Rebecca Ford who took this great photo before the U10s Derby. Great shot Rebecca, your $10 Voucher will be out to you on the weekend!

19.01.2022 Todays coach profile is Gary Mullaley. With son Dylan finishing his junior career this season Gary took on the reins in the under 16s team and has been a great support to these players. At the start of the season there was uncertainty as to whether our club would have the numbers to fill a team however to Garys credit he took it upon himself to ensure we did!... Garys profile here is around his coaching however he is so much more to our club. As President Gary has led the club through an unprecedented period of growth, carrying a Rovers position and outlook at WACFA. Garys involvement with our club extends even further through to equipment coordination. Outside of Rovers, Gary is a GP and this was very helpful earlier this season as we started to navigate Covid-19 restrictions. As anyone that comes in contact with Gary can attest, one of his key strengths is remaining calm and composed. This demeanour allows his players to relax and know that they have a supportive ear if they need one, while ensuring he makes good, logical decisions when the time calls for it. Coach Profile - Gary Mullaley Team Under 16s Boys Rovers Children Elyssa (U16s Assistant Coach), Dylan (U16s), Abby & Paige (U16s Girls) Favourite food Anything char-grilled Favourite holiday destination - Broome Sports played growing up basketball and squash, Teeball/baseball, bit of gymnastics Something we dont know about you Play guitar (electric, acoustic and bass) , used to play trombone once upon a time, plus now a bit of rhythm on a Cajon I made myself. Best experience so far this season with Rovers The look on Kaidens face when he kicked the equalizer against Armadale (u16s) priceless! Why you love Rovers I like that we are inclusive and we give everybody a go on the pitch, and that we value our players over performance. Gary thanks for giving your time and leading our club in the Christian values that underpin both Rovers and WACFA. With Dylan moving on (hopefully to a new mens team at Rovers) we know you will still be involved in supporting Abbey and Paiges team and continuing your valued association with ERCFC.

19.01.2022 Its R U OK? Day, a reminder that every day is a day to start a conversation that could change a life. Its not always obvious that someone may be struggling. If you notice a difference in someone in your life, family, friend, team mate, ask the question "R U OK?" These three words may make a big difference in someones life. Its all about connecting. Start a conversation that could change a life today, tomorrow and any day its needed.... R U OK?

18.01.2022 Today our coach profile is Mason Collins. At just 17 Mason is the youngest coach at our club and we are thrilled to have him on board this year. All of our club coaches are volunteers and give their time for the benefit of our kids. What makes Mason (and Matthew in our under 14s) special is that they are not a parent of a player he is a young man from within the local community willing to give his time for the benefit of our club. Mason is at the start of his coaching journ...ey and is currently developing his skills through the SEDA Football program. SEDA is a provider of year 11 and 12 education that focusses on sport as part of a wider curriculum that gives WACA or VET qualifications. Being associated with Perth Glory through this experience is a great opportunity for him. Mason currently plays for a local club and as a young man who cares about his team has quickly developed a rapport with all of his players. He is well prepared for both training and games and the improvement in his group throughout the season is clearly noticeable. Coach profile Mason Collins Team - under 8s terrier Favourite Food - Hamburger Holiday destination - Bali Sports played growing up Football (soccer) Something we dont know about you I attend a football school called SEDA Best experience at Rovers this season our first win. The best thing about Rovers the people are great. While Mason is going through getting the process of getting his licence it is also worth acknowledging his mother Sharon who has supported Mason by driving him to and from training and games. As a club we are very thankful to both of you and hope you have enjoyed the season as much as we have with you involved.

18.01.2022 Round 9 Photo of the Week thanks to McDonalds Ellenbrook goes to Jodie Mullaley capturing a proud moment with our U12s and U16s Girls Teams at Ashfield aka Girls Hub. A true testament of Jodies commitment to Girls Football and once again, the strong friendships and camaraderie between our Girls. Great shot Jodie, your $10 Voucher will be out to you on the weekend!

17.01.2022 Today our coach profile is Phil Pabedinskas Phil stepped up this season to coach one of under 12s teams after previously coaching two seasons ago in the under 10s age group. Also a Rovers committee member, Phil is one of our quiet achievers and has excelled in building a rapport with his team. A key feature of Phils coaching is the design of his training activities. While at different stages he will run basic drills his planning of more complex stations often sees players ma...king three or four efforts in one training sequence. By implementing this strategy he is connecting players through teamwork and demonstrating that you dont stop moving as soon as you have passed the ball. Tomorrow Phils team will be competing against the Huskies in one of three Rovers derbies and you can be sure his Terriers team will draw upon all of his training and learning as they put their best foot forward. Coach profile Phil Pabedinskas Team - under 12s terriers Rovers Children Zac (u12s), Jake (u10s), Caitlyn (u8s) Favourite Food - Hamburger Holiday destination - USA Sports played growing up Basketball Something we dont know about you I am colour blind and the Rovers black and maroon gets lost on me Best experience at Rovers this season seeing the team completely change their game play in a single week and shutting down the opposition. The best thing about Rovers love the culture, the people, the Uniform Coordinator and the fun. Phil thanks for the fantastic job you do as a coach and committee member for our club. You are a great role model to these boys and their soccer is growing right in front of our eyes on the back of your efforts. Good luck for the U12s Derby grudge match!

17.01.2022 Round 10 Club Fixtures.. lets kick some goals! Best of luck to all our Teams. GO ROVERS!

17.01.2022 Round 10 Photo of the Week thanks to McDonalds Ellenbrook goes to Corinna Chikwenya capturing a great bond formed in the U6s Bulldogs. Great shot Corinna, your $10 Voucher will be out to you on the weekend!

15.01.2022 Today our coach profile is Luke Sirolli It is pretty rare a community club receives an enquiry in the off-season with a new team of girls, coach, assistant coach and team manager all organised and ready to start playing. That is what happened at Rovers this year with our under 12s girls team through Luke, Marc and Sharmain. Lukes professional life is in the education sector and he integrates these skills into his coaching. From behaviour management and group management throu...gh to planning and review the art of coaching is well entrenched in Luke. What is unique to Luke is his ardent approach to engaging his players. As a coach he demands effort and pushes his girls to fight for every possession. He does this to challenge his players to be the best that they can be, and they respond accordingly. All of this is balanced by a supportive approach to each individual and the desire to understand their needs and concerns. The result is a strong rapport and positive team environment. While we had the best part of a team come across to play for Rovers this year Luke and his Assistant Marc Lake have also supported some new players as they joined the team. The whole group has gelled beautifully and performed well in amongst the two competitions they have been part of this season. Coach profile Luke Sirolli Team - under 12s girls Rovers children Quinn (u8s) and Indiana (u12s girls) Favourite Food - Curry Holiday destination - Bali Sports played growing up Soccer and Basketball Something we dont know about you I am a West Coast Eagles member and a Tottenham Hotspurs Best experience at Rovers this season watching the way the girls treat eachother at training and during the games. They welcome in all new players, even those filling in for a game or two. I am so proud to be a part of their football journey. They are very special. The best thing about Rovers the community aspect of the club and the fact that equal time on the pitch and player development is way more important than winning games. From Lukes answer to his best Rovers experience this season it is quite clear that he is one of those coaches that gets as much so out of the role. Our club is richer for having the involvement of this team as a whole, but would like to say a particular thank you to Luke for the fantastic job he does. On a separate note, if you want to be like Luke (well without the West Coast Eagles membership ) and are interested in joining in the fun of coaching next season please contact Club Coaching Coordinator Mark Sanders on [email protected].

14.01.2022 REMINDER Team Photos are taking place this afternoon for ALL U6s, U8s, U10s, U14s and U12s Girls Team. All players must wear full game day uniform.... Please follow instructions from your Coach and Team Manager and cooperate with our Photographer as required. Tag your team mates so they dont forget! Thanking you all for your continued support.

14.01.2022 Today our coach profile is Jodie Mullaley. Jodies involvement in soccer extends beyond the under 16s girls team she coaches. Her passion has seen her take on the role of Girls Coordinator over the last two seasons, part of the Rovers committee and Jodie also sits on the WACFA Management Committee as the representative for the Northern Hub. From matches on Saturday it is clear that the work Jodie has invested into development at our club is being rewarded with some excited yo...ung girls stepping out for each training session and on game days. We now have 42 girls playing at Rovers and this is on the back of Jodies efforts. Admittedly two of these are Mullaley girls, with older sister Elyssa a former player and brother Dylan also in our under 16s. All of the Mullaley crew have helped out at our training sessions throughout the season and are a blessing for our club and community. Jodie brings her knowledge from playing into her coaching, and has a fantastic rapport with each of her players. On her coaching resume she has Football West Mini Roos and Skill Acquisition Phase certificates that fuel her training. She is encouraging, supportive and inspiring to all the players in her team, much like she is for anyone she comes in contact with. Coach profile - Jodie Mullaley Team - under 16s girls Rovers children - Elyssa (Assistant Coach u16s girls), Dylan (u16s), Paige and Abby (u16s girls) Favourite Food - Diet Coke and Chocolate (they cancel out!) Holiday destination - North or South Western Australia Sports played growing up - baskteball, netball, teeball, tennis, backyard cricket Something we dont know about you - I play piano, flute and sing a half decent alto Best experience at Rovers this season - my champion under 16s carving out a win. Quite the feat considering we are babies in the grade with an average age of 13 despite the competition being under 16s! What do you like most abour Rovers - I love Rovers for its inclusiveness of all, and the heart of the club is for its people... after all soccer was inbented for people, not people for soccer. While Jodie is a critical part of our club, just as importantly it shouldnt be lost that she is also a friend to many. Thank you for everything you do Jodie

06.01.2022 Todays coach profile is Matthew Walton. Like under 8s coach Mason, Matthew is a local community member who put up his hand to coach a team this season out of the goodness of his heart. The Under 14s group was identified as a great opportunity for Matthew and after being introduced to the team during the first few sessions he took to the role like a duck to water.... Matthew brings his playing experience as a defender into his coaching, providing insights that have seen the back half improve considerably during the season. His training sessions have also integrated some key principles around spacing, passing to put team mates into better positions and also tactics for the forwards. Outside of Rovers, Matthew is studying paramedics at Univeristy and is a terrific role model for the boys he coaches. After starting with some tough losses in the early part of the season the under 14s team have really stepped up of late with a fantastic 1-0 win against one of the top teams (Perth Strikers) and a draw against Greyhound Boltz on the weekend that was deserving of a win with a very strong second half. These results are testament to the efforts of the boys but crucially Matthews terrific work. Ellenbrook Rovers would also like to acknowledge Team Manager Denise OConnor for her fantastic support of Matthew and ensuring his smooth transition into the team and club. Coach - Matthew Walton Team - Under 14s Favourite food - Parmigiana and Chips Favourite Holiday Destination - Kalbarri Sports played growing up - Soccer Something we dont know about you? I am a barista / bartender and start work at our club sponsor Amarettos this Monday Best experience with Rovers so far this season? Our first win of the season Why you love Rovers? The club is all about community and being together Matthew we thank you for your commitment to coach and citizenship within our club this season. We hope you have enjoyed coaching the team as much as we have loved having you involved.

04.01.2022 APPRECIATION & THANKS Larrissa Buckley and Erin Radalj This dynamic duo kindly accepted our photography contract for Season 2020 and have efficiently and comprehensively worked through each age group for Team Photos last week.... Nothing has been too much trouble and although some of the working conditions werent desirable, these ladies continued to smile and work through without any complaints. Larrissa continues to remind us that shes "just mum with a camera" but in fact shes more than that..she is a blessing and were very grateful for her skills. Erin was fastidious in setting up players evenly in front of the banner and cross referencing to ensure all Teams were photographed perfectly! Thank you Larrissa and Erin, we are very grateful for skills and time!

01.01.2022 Todays and our final coach profile is Mark Sanders. With two children joining in the fun of soccer, Mark loves it so much he coaches both teams! Now into his third season coaching with Rovers, Mark ensures his training and match preparation is focussed around every player having the opportunity to get better. Having been part of the Rovers committee over the last two seasons Mark decided to take the plunge and fill the club Coaching Coordinator role. Most parents would have... seen him flying around in the early weeks ensuring teams had coaches allocated and our pre-season kicked off nicely. Coach Profile - Mark Sanders Teams Under 8s Bulldogs and Under 10s Terriers Rovers Children Zaylee (U8s) and Coby (U10s) Favourite food Annies Fried Rice Favourite holiday destination Bunker Bay Sports played growing up basketball, Aussie Rules, Cricket, tennis Something we dont know about you I grew up in Darlington on a small block and we had two pet sheep named Baa-Baa and Bee-Bee! Best experience so far this season with Rovers without question the evenings when we have parents vs kids games as part of training. You can see how much the kids love playing against Mum and Dad and it is sensational to be part of. Why you love Rovers I love the fact that my daughter is just as welcome as my son and the club embraces all players irrespective of ability. Mark thanks for your commitment to helping support coaching at our club as well as the Bulldogs and Terriers teams. We hope you have received as much joy out of coaching as the kids do from your efforts.
