22.01.2022 Christmas is a month away! That also means Christmas Eve parties, New Year’s Eve, New Years, alongside your normal birthdays, weddings, baby showers ..... Yep. A lot happens in December! ... Does it mean you need to fall off the wagon? Hell effing no!!! It’s about building your tool kit, knowing your triggers, understanding foods so that you can manage these in a smart way! Coming out of the holiday season feeling not only relaxed, but in control Here are some of my 5 hot tips for staying in control this holiday season 1 recognise when to say yes and no - do you really want that extra glass of wine? Or are you falling to peer pressure? Slow down and think about it before you jump immediately to yes / people pleasing 2 eat slowly - Christmas and events means more challenging environments and feeders. Eat slowly and mindfully, put your fork down between bites, notice when you start speeding up. Why? Is it because other people are eating quickly around you? This leads into my third point...: 3 notice your triggers - have an extra slice of cake not because you actually wanted it, but because you felt a bit stressed with all the Christmas parties and people, or didn’t get enough sleep prior. Slow down, notice them, and write it down! 4 decide an alcohol window. - look ahead at your week, and pencil in your events. 4 back to back? Ok, where are you going to drink (if you are) and where are you not? Give yourself an alcohol / treat window and stick to it eg 1-3 gins 5 don’t let feeling sluggish spiral into the next day. - so your feeling crappy? Over ate the day before? Doesn’t need to affect now! Go for that walk, add in lots of veg to your next meal. Don’t let it affect your actions in the present moment! I dno about you, but I hate coming out of a meal feeling so stuffed and sluggish I can’t bloody move properly You can come through this holiday season feeling relaxed, eating foods you enjoy and without depriving yourself! 22.01.2022 Ahhh, Basketball. It used to be a big part of my life! At my peak, I was playing up to 3 (or more) games a week and training everyday. ... In year 12 , I stepped away from basketball. At uni - I started gaining weight I didn’t want to go back to b-ball, but I was scared to join a gym. I felt stuck. As my life, and routine changed...It took me a while to figure it all out. But I did figure it out. And so will you. Be patient with yourself along your journey. We are forever growing and evolving! Strive for progress, not perfection. And know that you can handle any shift, curve ball, and change, life throws at you if you choose too! 2020 proves that! Reach out anytime Ellie x

13.01.2022 HOW TO OVERCOME BEING STUCK 1 create a plan - stop hip hopping from fads to 8 week challenges with big 6 month breaks inbetween. Create a long term consistent plan you can stick too! 2 set a small action forward to do today - stop overwhelming yourself by trying to do it all at once ! It doesn’t work meet yourself where you are at. And slowly build from there. ... 3plan ahead and slot in what you can CONSISTENTLY manage. Where will your walks be this week? Where are your resistance sessions? write them in your diary 4 emotional attachment from past failures ie shake diets and fads are holding you back. They aren’t sustainable so that’s why you couldn’t keep doing it! No failure , just feedback - so stop turning to quick fixes! 5Reach out to me! Take action! Stop overthinking it. 12.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW: Women need carbs to ovulate?! Yep, read that again ... When the body doesn’t receive enough energy from food, the first thing to shut down is the reproductive system. Scary stuff, isn’t it. Yet low carb diets and 800 cal written plans are thrown around like it’s a lifelong thing. Not only that, throw in work stressors, zero sleep, training, and zero carbs into the mix = hormone downward spiral. This is why women NEED carbs. This is why, long term, low calorie diets and low carb diets can be detrimental to your HORMONE HEALTH! Women need carbs too: ovulate! ( your period is an insight to your health! So keep track of it!) support thyroid and immune health! prevent cravings and support brain function improve sleep and satiety supports hormone health!! So you gals can satisfy your sweet tooth and without throwing away those precious macros. 1 Queens sugar free maple syrup - chuck this one your protein pancakes instead of normal maple syrup - 1 g or carb per 35 mL! An easy swap! 2sugar free hot Chocolate - I love this product coz I love hot drinks. Sometimes I just have one before bed and it’s the perfect end to the day! 2 teaspoons is only 10 cals. 3choccy paddle pops - only 78 cals and 13 g of carbs, a great macro friendly treat spesh as the weather warms up! 4salted caramel yopro - 95 cals and 15 g of protein! Try this quick easy core workout! 1dumbbell pass through - keep hips and shoulders square to the floor while keeping Glutes and core on! Drop to knees if you need! 3 sets x 8 each side ... 2renegade rows - same as above, Fight sway in hips and keep Glutes and core on. Have supporting hand directly under shoulder! Drop to knees if you need.3 sets x 8 each side 3shoulder taps. - as above. Drop to knees if you need and make sure hands are directly under shoulders! 4 plank hold - 30 sec! Watch my other reel on this one. Glutes and core stay on the entire time! There you have it! A quick easy silly season workout which will keep you feeling hope! 04.01.2022 Having a six pack doesn’t mean you have a strong core Your rectus abdominals (the ones you can see when someone is lean) are very superficial and just a small part of your entire core! Think of your body like the house and your core is the foundation - it needs to be strong from the inside out! This is essential for such things as preventing lower back pain, improving posture, & childbirth !! ... The deeper core muscles include: Transverse Abdominis (TA) multifidus (MF) pelvic floor (PF) The issue is - so many gals are aware of their superficial abs but neglect the deeper core! This is where it comes down to focusing on breathing and TA activation - slowing it down - and understanding it’s not all about crunches or the exercise feeling burney. The better your core strength, the better your ability to support your spine and keep your body stable and balanced! 02.01.2022 Consistency in your behaviours is the most important thing. Read that again Consistency over time = results.... So your weekly weigh in, or whatever it may be, is just a very small snapshot of the big picture itself. Scales will also fluctuate depending upon water retention, menstrual cycle, constipation, just to name a few. So don’t you dare let it affect your good action. We can be in such a rush to achieve our goals so quickly, we get in our heads before the journey has even properly begun! Trust me... good habits over time pays off Don’t let the scales, or what you think the scales should say, deter you from that. Be patient, and keep going. Make it a great wk! 02.01.2022 I love staying at home Over New Years, I spent 3 full days watching ink master, with @captain__curk and our kitten pixie. Enjoying sleep ins, and no plans at all Loved. It. ... I’m a bit of a homebody, I’m good at saying no, and I love my routine. Staying up till midnight did not appeal to me in the fkn slightest. I also had a small break from social media - which was definitely needed This year, I plan on scheduling more rest, ticking further food items off my bucket list, being future focused & further study. 2020 was a lot, but I learnt a lot. Worldwide women are more overweight + obese than men The Number ONE killer of women is hypertension ... 75% of Aust women carry out insufficient physical activity according to the national guidelines recommendations this. Read it again. Twice more if you need too. Reality is; being overweight/ obese puts you at a higher risk of hypertension, cardiovascular disease and early death. Look after yourself and you’ll live a longer, lower risk, pain free life. Instead, focus on long term change by: Focus on consistency and habits Little actions over time Understanding food and having everything in moderation Performing a gym program that fits to your lifestyle And over time, you’ll get to where you want to be. Constantly being on and off and reinventing the wheel is not only exhausting .... but makes you think you can’t do it! Which is entirely not true!!
