11.01.2022 MENS NIGHT MULLETS FOR MENTAL HEALTH . It’s an issue known, but not spoken about enough. Mental health affects all of us in different ways, and now more than ever it’s important to not only raise awareness, but to actually do something about it. ... . You may have heard about it, and you may not, but The Black Dog Institute has launched MULLETS FOR MENTAL HEALTH, and we are all about it. Just like ‘November’ but mullets. The Elli Mac Salon team is taking part in the Black Dog Institute's Mullets for Mental Health. 1 in 5 of us will experience symptoms of mental illness in any given year. In Australia that’s around 5 million people. And roughly 60% of these people won’t seek help. From now and continuing into the month of September we will be cutting in mullets for those who want one and raising funds to show support for mental health research. Please donate and support the mullets and empower everyone in Australia to look after their mental health. How.... $10 from every mullet we cut in the shop between now and the end of September will be donated to the cause. We will also donate $10 on behalf of every Elli Mac Salon Team Member $1 from every service, and $1 from every product sold between now and the end of September. . 09.01.2022 Six months ago we moved into our new salon! That time has flown. We have had sooo many new clients come in and support us for that I welcome and thank you. To all our existing savvy vips now our Elli Mac Community who have been supporting us for years thank you so much! Every day in the salon would not be possible without you too! I look at our appointment page and it is so refreshing and heart warming to see our clientele coming back again and again you are like our family.... Nearly three years ago we created a men’s night just for the boys and that has become so popular now so thank you to the fellas for keeping that one alive!! The space at Elli Mac is still not complete we have a few things to add but that is happening over the next two months. Then it will be onto the outside to create a perfect chill zone for our sundowners! Here is a funny story we had a client call up and ask to have their hair done by Elli Mac (sorry to the client if you are reading this we did have a giggle)... now we are all Elli Mac at the salon and just in case you were wondering the salon name is actually my name Camille spelt backwards. It also means to give you a good experience and leave you with a lasting memory. This is what we are about how you feel during and after we look after you. People ask us why the name change and re brand. The answer is only it was time. This really is only the beginning of what we are bringing to this beautiful little town. 06.01.2022 Some sad industry news Hair Expo has been shut down. Never again will it return. This year would have been the only year in my Hairdressing career I have missed an event put on to celebrate our industry all things up and coming. The shows the awards the inspiration. I loved taking my team over for an inspirational salon get away. We worked back stage with some amazing hair and makeup creatives. Just taking a little moment to appreciate all the memories. I am so glad I made time to do this. Looking forward to seeing what new door opens for our industry as this one closes.
